2024-08-12media: uapi: videodev2: Add V4L2_META_FMT_RK_ISP1_EXT_PARAMSJacopo Mondi
The rkisp1 driver stores ISP configuration parameters in the fixed rkisp1_params_cfg structure. As the members of the structure are part of the userspace API, the structure layout is immutable and cannot be extended further. Introducing new parameters or modifying the existing ones would change the buffer layout and cause breakages in existing applications. 2024-04-29media: v4l: subdev: Add len_routes field to struct v4l2_subdev_routingSakari Ailus
The len_routes field is used to tell the size of the routes array in struct v4l2_subdev_routing. This way the number of routes returned from S_ROUTING IOCTL may be larger than the number of routes provided, in case there are more routes returned by the driver. Note that this uAPI is still disabled in the code, so this change can safely be done. Anyone who manually patched the code to enable this uAPI must update their code. The patch also increases the number of reserved fields in struct v4l2_subdev_routing. 2024-04-29media: v4l: Support line-based metadata captureSakari Ailus
Many camera sensors, among other devices, transmit embedded data and image data for each CSI-2 frame. This embedded data typically contains register configuration of the sensor that has been used to capture the image data of the same frame. The embedded data is received by the CSI-2 receiver and has the same properties as the image data, including that it is line based: it has width, height and bytesperline (stride). Add these fields to struct v4l2_meta_format and document them. Also add V4L2_FMT_FLAG_META_LINE_BASED to tell a given format is line-based i.e. these fields of struct v4l2_meta_format are valid for it. 2024-04-29media: uapi: v4l: Add generic 8-bit metadata format definitionsSakari Ailus
Generic 8-bit metadata formats define the in-memory data layout but not the format of the data itself. The reasoning for having such formats is to allow CSI-2 receiver drivers to receive and DMA drivers to write the data to memory without knowing a large number of device-specific formats. These formats may be used only in conjunction with a Media Controller pipeline where the internal pad of the source sub-device defines the specific format of the data (using an mbus code). 2023-11-23media: core: v4l2-ioctl: check if ioctl is known to avoid NULL nameHans Verkuil
When ioctl debugging is turned on, the v4l_printk_ioctl() is used to log the ioctl that is called. It uses an array of ioctl information to log the ioctl name and it correctly checks for out-of-bound indexing of that array. However, the array may have holes since not all ioctl numbers are used. In that case the name of the ioctl is NULL. It is harmless (printk handles NULL pointers), but not intended. Instead use the v4l2_is_known_ioctl() function to determine if the ioctl information is available or not. 2022-11-04media: v4l: Add definition for the Aspeed JPEG formatJammy Huang
This introduces support for the Aspeed JPEG format, where the new frame can refer to previous frame to reduce the amount of compressed data. The concept is similar to I/P frame of video compression. It will compare the new frame with previous one to decide which macroblock's data is changed, and only the changed macroblocks will be compressed. This Aspeed JPEG format is used by the video engine on Aspeed platforms, which is generally adapted for remote KVM. 2022-10-24media: v4l2-ioctl.c: Unify YCbCr/YUV terms in format descriptionsJernej Skrabec
Format descriptions use YCbCr and YUV terms interchangeably. Let's unify them so they all use YUV. While YCbCr is actually correct term here, YUV is shorter and thus it also fixes too long description of P010 tiled format. 2022-09-27media: v4l2-ioctl.c: fix incorrect error pathHans Verkuil
If allocating array_buf fails, or copying data from userspace into that buffer fails, then just free memory and return the error. Don't attempt to call video_put_user() since there is no point, and it would copy back data on error even if INFO_FL_ALWAYS_COPY wasn't set. So if writing the array back to userspace fails, then don't go to out_array_args, instead just continue with the regular code that just returns the error unless 'always_copy' is set. Update the VIDIOC_G/S/TRY_EXT_CTRLS ioctls to set the ALWAYS_COPY flag since they now need it. Before this worked due to this buggy code, but now that that is fixed these ioctls need to set this flag explicitly.
