Pull VFIO updates from Alex Williamson:
- Fix missing selftest <libgen.h> include for basename() to support
non-glibc builds (Hisam Mehboob)
- Add vfio selftest documentation covering the libvfio helper library
and guidance for developers to aid in adding and understanding the
framework (David Matlack)
- Fix vfio cdev open path to prevent a second open from clobbering the
vf_token or clearing the KVM reference. Add a selftest to avoid
future recurrences (Alex Williamson)
- Extend vfio selftest mix_and_match timeouts, in particular to account
for systems where generated faults can induce heavy SMM load,
delaying internal timeouts. Also extend timeout for execution via
runner to account for various tests exceeding default 45s timeout
(Alex Williamson)
- Add tracking for non-reserved mappings into a vfio_dma object in
order to optimize the tear-down paths where per-page tests can be
entirely skipped. This resolves a soft lockup for large memory GPUs
(Samuel Crossley)
- Add vfio selftest driver for mlx5, providing another target for
exercising DMA and interrupts against a physical device (Jason
Gunthorpe)
- Hardening against read-only region promotion, preserving vm_pgoff for
unmap_mapping_range(), and reject non-shared MMIO mmaps as necessary
through vfio-platform, vfio-fsl-mc, and vfio-cdx. These prevent
future issues, though none are currently reachable (Abdifatah Suruur)
- Fix 8-byte ioeventfd support, removing a static error test that was
erroneously left in place when generalizing 8-byte io accesses (Li
RongQing)
- Fix missed RCU drain on module exit (Jiale Yao)
- Fix off-by-one boundary check in migration support within the mlx5
vfio-pci variant driver (Seongjun Hong)
- Remove drvdata usage convention across vfio-pci-core, allowing
variant drivers to freely create their own conventions and enabling a
future Rust-based variant driver. A DRM topic branch is also merged
in support of this effort, modifying the vga arbiter API to more
cleanly remove the drvdata dependency (Simon Song)
- Fix hisi_acc vfio-pci variant driver to avoid NULL pointer accesses
when bound to unsupported devices and also disabling migration
support when running on 64K host page size due to BAR mapping
constraints (Longfang Liu)
- Add device IDs for Crescent Island and Nova Lake devices to the Xe
vfio-pci variant driver (Satyanarayana K V P)
- Fix fallback mode in nvgrace-gpu variant driver to use symmetric open
and close handlers to avoid reported use-after-free issue. Remove the
resulting unnecessary test in the now single-purpose open function

These are needed by the VFIO mlx5 selftest in the following patches,
which includes some headers from mlx5 and also needs a few more
MMIO-related features.
- DECLARE_FLEX_ARRAY in new tools/include/linux/stddef.h (wraps
existing __DECLARE_FLEX_ARRAY from uapi/linux/stddef.h)
- dma_wmb/dma_rmb barriers: x86 uses compiler barrier
(DMA-coherent), arm64 uses dmb oshst/oshld (outer-shareable for
device visibility), generic fallback uses wmb/rmb
- ioread32be/iowrite32be in tools/include/asm-generic/io.h for
big-endian MMIO register access

Add a two-VPE VGICv5 LPI delivery test. LPIs depend on an IST whose
base is provided by the guest through IRS_IST_BASER, which causes KVM
to allocate and provide an LPI IST to the hardware. Exercise the
virtual IRS ID registers and IST base configuration path before
checking interrupt delivery.
Back the guest's LPI IST with a dedicated userspace memslot and
identity-map it into the guest at the same IPA and VA. This lets the
guest provide that address to the emulated IRS through IRS_IST_BASER
while the host test still allocates and owns the backing memory.
Have VPE0 enable the IRS, derive a valid linear LPI IST configuration
from the virtual IRS ID registers, provide the IST base through
IRS_IST_BASER, configure one LPI for each VPE, and send an LPI to
VPE1. While the BASER is valid, attempt to change its address and
verify that the write is ignored. VPE1 consumes the first LPI and
replies with a second, which VPE0 consumes before completing the test.

Add VGICv5 SPI delivery coverage through KVM_IRQ_LINE. SPIs are
configured through the virtual IRS and delivered through the GICv5 CPU
interface, so the test needs to exercise both the userspace injection
path and the guest-side IRS programming path.
Map the virtual IRS into the guest, enable the IRS, configure SPI
trigger mode and target VPE from the guest, and check delivery of a
default SPI and SPI 1023, the last SPI in the maximum configured
range. This also exercises VGIC initialization and the IRS selector
at KVM's upper bound. Verify that invalid SPI numbers are rejected,
that lowering an edge-triggered SPI after it is pending does not
recall it, and that level-sensitive SPIs are delivered.

Add coverage for the VGICv5 IRS_REGS attribute group. Migration needs
a userspace-visible view of the virtual IRS register state, but KVM
must expose only valid registers and reject state that cannot be
restored safely.
Verify that KVM_HAS_DEVICE_ATTR reports the IRS_REGS group before the
IRS base is configured, while register reads and writes are rejected
before VGIC initialisation. Once the VGIC is initialised, verify that
all exposed registers can be read and their values written back.
Check that bad offsets, incorrect alignment, and bad userspace
pointers are rejected. Also check ID register restore validation, idle
status register values, and IRS_IST_BASER restore handling.

Add coverage for the VGICv5 IRS address attribute. The address is the
base of the guest-visible MMIO region used to configure the virtual
IRS, so userspace must provide a valid base address before the VM can
run.
Verify that KVM reports the attribute, returns VGIC_ADDR_UNDEF before
it is configured, rejects misaligned and out-of-IPA-range addresses,
accepts a valid base, rejects a second base, and fails vCPU entry if
the VGIC is initialized without an IRS address.

This selftest was added before the GICv5 IRS was supported in
KVM. Therefore, there was no address to set, and the specific UAPI
didn't even exist.
Now that the IRS is supported, and setting its address is mandatory
before VGIC resources are mapped, set the emulated IRS GPA before
initialising the VGIC. Running a GICv5 VM will fail if userspace has
not provided the IRS address before the first vCPU run.

Include <linux/types.h> in include/kvm_util_types.h, iinclude/test_util.h,

headers (especially kvm_util_types.h) should have already been including

only rears its head once KVM uses u64 instead of uint64_t.

This basic selftest creates a vgic_v5 device (if supported), and tests
that one of the PPI interrupts works as expected with a basic
single-vCPU guest.
Upon starting, the guest enables interrupts. That means that it is
initialising all PPIs to have reasonable priorities, but marking them
as disabled. Then the priority mask in the ICC_PCR_EL1 is set, and
interrupts are enable in ICC_CR0_EL1. At this stage the guest is able
to receive interrupts. The architected SW_PPI (64) is enabled and
KVM_IRQ_LINE ioctl is used to inject the state into the guest.
The guest's interrupt handler has an explicit WFI in order to ensure
that the guest skips WFI when there are pending and enabled PPI
interrupts.

KVM selftests changes for 6.20
- Add a regression test for TPR<=>CR8 synchronization and IRQ masking.
- Overhaul selftest's MMU infrastructure to genericize stage-2 MMU support,
and extend x86's infrastructure to support EPT and NPT (for L2 guests).
- Extend several nested VMX tests to also cover nested SVM.
- Add a selftest for nested VMLOAD/VMSAVE.
- Rework the nested dirty log test, originally added as a regression test for
PML where KVM logged L2 GPAs instead of L1 GPAs, to improve test coverage
and to hopefully make the test easier to understand and maintain.

KVM selftests map all guest code and data into the lower virtual address
range (0x0000...) managed by TTBR0_EL1. The upper range (0xFFFF...)
managed by TTBR1_EL1 is unused and uninitialized.
If a guest accesses the upper range, the MMU attempts a translation
table walk using uninitialized registers, leading to unpredictable
behavior.
Set `TCR_EL1.EPD1` to disable translation table walks for TTBR1_EL1,
ensuring that any access to the upper range generates an immediate
Translation Fault. Additionally, set `TCR_EL1.TBI1` (Top Byte Ignore) to
ensure that tagged pointers in the upper range also deterministically
trigger a Translation Fault via EPD1.
Define `TCR_EPD1_MASK`, `TCR_EPD1_SHIFT`, and `TCR_TBI1` in
`processor.h` to support this configuration. These are based on their
definitions in `arch/arm64/include/asm/pgtable-hwdef.h`.

vgic_lpi_stress sends MAPTI and MAPC commands during guest GIC setup to
map interrupt events to ITT entries and collection IDs to
redistributors, respectively.
We have no guarantee that the ITS will finish handling these mapping
commands before the selftest calls KVM_SIGNAL_MSI to inject LPIs to the
guest. If LPIs are injected before ITS mapping completes, the ITS cannot
properly pass the interrupt on to the redistributor.
Fix by adding a SYNC command to the selftests ITS library, then calling
SYNC after ITS mapping to ensure mapping completes before signal_lpi()
writes to GITS_TRANSLATER.

FEAT_VHE has the somewhat nice property of implicitly redirecting EL1

Unfortunately, there's no such abstraction for userspace and EL2
registers are always accessed by their canonical encoding.

aggressive inlining to catch misuse at compile time. Go a little past

Atomic instructions such as 'ldset' in the guest have been observed to
cause an EL1 data abort with FSC 0x35 (IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED fault
(Unsupported Exclusive or Atomic access)) on Neoverse-N3.
Per DDI0487L.a B2.2.6, atomic instructions are only architecturally
guaranteed for Inner/Outer Shareable Normal Write-Back memory. For
anything else the behavior is IMPLEMENTATION DEFINED and can lose
atomicity, or, in this case, generate an abort.
It would appear that selftests sets up the stage-1 mappings as Non
Shareable, leading to the observed abort. Explicitly set the
Shareability field to Inner Shareable for non-LPA2 page tables. Note
that for the LPA2 page table format, translations for cacheable memory

The kvm selftest library for arm64 currently configures the hardware
fields, such as shift and mask in the page-table entries and registers,
directly with numbers. While it add comments at places, it's better to
rewrite them with appropriate macros to improve the readability and
reduce the risk of errors. Hence, introduce macros to define the
hardware fields and use them in the arm64 processor library.
Most of the definitions are primary copied from the Linux's header,
arch/arm64/include/asm/pgtable-hwdef.h.
No functional change intended.

Use the kernel's canonical $(ARCH) paths instead of the raw target triple
for KVM selftests directories. KVM selftests are quite nearly the only
place in the entire kernel that using the target triple for directories,
tools/testing/selftests/drivers/s390x being the lone holdout.
Using the kernel's preferred nomenclature eliminates the minor, but
annoying, friction of having to translate to KVM's selftests directories,
e.g. for pattern matching, opening files, running selftests, etc.
Opportunsitically delete file comments that reference the full path of the
file, as they are obviously prone to becoming stale, and serve no known
purpose.
