2026-09-25dt-bindings: net: wireless: qcom,ath10k: Document NVMEM cellsLoic Poulain
Document the NVMEM cells supported by the ath10k driver, the mac-address, pre-calibration data, and calibration data. Since such data may also originate from chipset OTP or be supplied via other device tree structures. All of these cells are optional and can be provided independently, in any combination. 2026-09-21dt-bindings: net: wireless: Convert WL1251 to DT schemaEduard Bostina
Convert the Texas Instruments WL1251 Wireless LAN Controller bindings to DT schema. During the conversion, the following updates were made: - Added the 'clocks' property. It was missing from the txt binding but is used in device trees (omap3-n900.dts). - Added 'spi-cpol' and 'spi-cpha'. These were present in the original txt binding's example but missing from its property list. - 'vio-supply' and 'spi-max-frequency' are no longer required. The txt binding listed them as required, but they are only applicable when the chip is connected via SPI. 2026-09-15dt-bindings: net: Use consistent indentation in the exampleKrzysztof Kozlowski
Correct indentation in the examples to consistent 2- or 4-spaces indentation to fix dt-check-style warnings ("example 0 [indent-consistent] indent mismatch ..."). Preferred is 4-spaces, but re-indenting entire example just for that is too much churn. In cortina,gemini-ethernet.yaml also drop the wrongly indented mdio bus, because it is not necessary for the example. 2026-09-04dt-bindings: net: wireless: add flag marvell,invalid-reg-hint-in-romGeorgi Valkov
WRT3200ACM and WRT32x routers always report a fixed US regulatory domain from the mwifiex ROM, which conflicts with the platform regulatory configuration on units sold outside the US market. For example: - phy0 mwlwifi 5 GHz, hard-coded region 98 EU mapped to FR - phy1 mwlwifi 2.4 GHz, hard-coded region 98 EU mapped to FR - phy2 mwifiex 2.4 and 5 GHz, hard-coded region US When the system boots, it detects a conflict between the user selected region and the radios, e.g. BG FR US, and applies extreme restrictions, preventing phy0 from starting on any DFS channel. phy2 works. Add a device-tree flag, which allows affected devices, where the radio conflicts with the platform to ignore the incorrect regulatory hint in the ROM of the radio, so the platform regulatory domain can be used. This does not allow the user to change the regulatory configuration of any radio. It only allows phy0 to start and operate according to its certified configuration. 2026-09-04dt-bindings: net: wireless: wfx: discourage OOB IRQ with SDIOJérôme Pouiller
The WFxxx device provides an SDIO interface. In addition to the usual in-band SDIO IRQ, the device also supports an out-of-band IRQ line. However, using the OOB IRQ with SDIO requires to poll the control register during the device initialization. This polling is unreliable: if an IRQ is raised while the host reads the control register, the device is lost and only a reset allows to recover it. There is no way to fix this in software. So, warn the user that this setup should be reserved to debug. 2026-09-03dt-bindings: wireless: ath12k: drop qcom,ath12k-calibration-variantAndrew LaMarche
The ath12k-wsi binding documentation describes using the generation-specific qcom,ath12k-calibration-variant binding as well as the generation-agnostic qcom,calibration-variant binding to load board-specific calibration data from the device tree. However, the driver never implemented either of these. Given that no devices currently supported use qcom,ath12k-calibration-variant and the previous patch implements qcom,calibration-variant, drop the generation-specific version from the binding to prevent future confusion. The commit 22b980badc0f ("mt76: add functions for parsing rate power limits from DT") added filtering of the power limits based on two properties: * regdomain * country If either the country or the regdomain matches, the power limits are applied and the search is aborted. If none of the two is defined for the power limit, it is a global (or "fallback") power limit. The last "fallback" power limit in the list will be returned when not matching regdomain or country was found. The idea is here to allow to specify "overwriting" country limits in front of the list - just in case a regdomain is shared but a country has additional limitations. But this property was forgotten to be defined in commit 2de6ccebe0e7 ("dt-bindings:net:wireless:mediatek,mt76: introduce power-limits node"). I think this takes the record for the most number of patch series (30+) over the longest period of time (2+ years) to get merged properly. Many props go to Wesley Cheng for seeing this effort through, they took a major out-of-tree hacked-up-monstrosity that was created by multiple vendors for their specific devices, got it all merged into a semi-coherent set of changes, and got all of the different major subsystems to agree on how this should be implemented both with changes to their code as well as userspace apis, AND wrangled the hardware companies into agreeing to go forward with this, despite making them all redo work they had already done in their private device trees. This feature offers major power savings on embedded devices where a USB audio stream can continue to flow while the rest of the system is sleeping, something that devices running on battery power really care about. There are still some more small tweaks left to be done here, and those patches are still out for review and arguing among the different hardware companies, but this is a major step forward and a great example of how to do upstream development well. - small number of thunderbolt fixes and updates, things seem to be slowing down here (famous last words...) - xhci refactors and reworking to try to handle some rough corner cases in some hardware implementations where things don't always work properly - typec driver updates - USB3 power management reworking and updates - Removal of some old and orphaned UDC gadget drivers that had not been used in a very long time, dropping over 11 thousand lines from the tree, always a nice thing, making up for the 12k lines added for the USB offload feature. - lots of little updates and fixes in different drivers All of these have been in linux-next for over 2 weeks, the USB offload logic has been in there for 8 weeks now, with no reported issues" * tag 'usb-6.16-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/usb: (172 commits) ALSA: usb-audio: qcom: fix USB_XHCI dependency ASoC: qdsp6: fix compile-testing without CONFIG_OF usb: misc: onboard_usb_dev: fix build warning for CONFIG_USB_ONBOARD_DEV_USB5744=n usb: typec: tipd: fix typo in TPS_STATUS_HIGH_VOLAGE_WARNING macro USB: typec: fix const issue in typec_match() USB: gadget: udc: fix const issue in gadget_match_driver() USB: gadget: fix up const issue with struct usb_function_instance USB: serial: pl2303: add new chip PL2303GC-Q20 and PL2303GT-2AB USB: serial: bus: fix const issue in usb_serial_device_match() usb: usbtmc: Fix timeout value in get_stb usb: usbtmc: Fix read_stb function and get_stb ioctl ALSA: qc_audio_offload: try to reduce address space confusion ALSA: qc_audio_offload: avoid leaking xfer_buf allocation ALSA: qc_audio_offload: rename dma/iova/va/cpu/phys variables ALSA: usb-audio: qcom: Fix an error handling path in qc_usb_audio_probe() usb: misc: onboard_usb_dev: Fix usb5744 initialization sequence dt-bindings: usb: ti,usb8041: Add binding for TI USB8044 hub controller usb: misc: onboard_usb_dev: Add support for TI TUSB8044 hub usb: gadget: lpc32xx_udc: Use USB API functions rather than constants usb: gadget: epautoconf: Use USB API functions rather than constants ...
2025-05-19dt-bindings: net: wireless: ath12k: describe firmware-name propertyMiaoqing Pan
Introduce 'firmware-name' property to allow end-users and/or integrators to decide which usecase-specific firmware to run on the WCN7850 platform. This is necessary due to resource limitations such as memory capacity and CPU capability, or performance and power optimization for different application scenarios. Two firmwares are supported: 'WCN7850/hw2.0' and 'WCN7850/hw2.0/ncm825'. The former is the default firmware, suitable for most WiFi 7 STA functions. The latter adds support for commercial-quality SAP and optimizes power consumption for IoT applications.
