NETIF_F_LLTX can't be changed via Ethtool and is not a feature,
rather an attribute, very similar to IFF_NO_QUEUE (and hot).
Free one netdev_features_t bit and make it a "hot" private flag.

This patch adds supports for multiple PHY hardware with phylink. The
adapters with TN40xx chips use multiple PHY hardware; AMCC QT2025, TI
TLK10232, Aqrate AQR105, and Marvell 88X3120, 88X3310, and MV88E2010.
For now, the PCI ID table of this driver enables adapters using only
QT2025 PHY. I've tested this driver and the QT2025 PHY driver (SFP+
10G SR) with Edimax EN-9320 10G adapter.

This patch adds basic Rx handling. The Rx logic uses three major data
structures; two ring buffers with NIC and one database. One ring
buffer is used to send information to NIC about memory to be stored
packets to be received. The other is used to get information from NIC
about received packets. The database is used to keep the information
about DMA mapping. After a packet arrived, the db is used to pass the
packet to the network stack.

This patch adds device specific structures to initialize the hardware
with basic Tx handling. The original driver loads the embedded
firmware in the header file. This driver is implemented to use the
firmware APIs.
The Tx logic uses three major data structures; two ring buffers with
NIC and one database. One ring buffer is used to send information
about packets to be sent for NIC. The other is used to get information
from NIC about packet that are sent. The database is used to keep the
information about DMA mapping. After a packet is sent, the db is used
to free the resource used for the packet.

Simon reported that ndo_change_mtu() methods were never
updated to use WRITE_ONCE(dev->mtu, new_mtu) as hinted
in commit 501a90c94510 ("inet: protect against too small
mtu values.")
We read dev->mtu without holding RTNL in many places,
with READ_ONCE() annotations.
It is time to take care of ndo_change_mtu() methods
to use corresponding WRITE_ONCE()

We tell driver developers to always pass NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT
as the weight to netif_napi_add(). This may be confusing
to newcomers, drop the weight argument, those who really
need to tweak the weight can use netif_napi_add_weight().

Use dma_set_mask_and_coherent() instead of unrolling it with some
dma_set_mask()+dma_set_coherent_mask().
Moreover, as stated in [1], dma_set_mask_and_coherent() with a 64-bit mask
will never fail if dev->dma_mask is non-NULL.
So, if it fails, the 32 bits case will also fail for the same reason.
That said, 'pci_using_dac' can only be 1 after a successful
dma_set_mask_and_coherent().
Simplify code and remove some dead code accordingly.

Commit 406f42fa0d3c ("net-next: When a bond have a massive amount
of VLANs...") introduced a rbtree for faster Ethernet address look
up. To maintain netdev->dev_addr in this tree we need to make all
the writes to it got through appropriate helpers.
Break the address up into an array on the stack, then call
eth_hw_addr_set().

and .get_coalesce, then some extra info can return to user with
the netlink API.

Tehuti only implements private ioctl commands, and implements
them by overriding the ifreq layout, which is broken in
compat mode.
Move it to the ndo_siocdevprivate callback in order to fix this.

As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.
After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.
The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:

The wrappers in include/linux/pci-dma-compat.h should go away.
The patch has been generated with the coccinelle script below and has been
hand modified to replace GFP_ with a correct flag.
It has been compile tested.
When memory is allocated in 'bdx_fifo_init()' GFP_ATOMIC must be used
because it can be called from a '.ndo_set_rx_mode' function. Such functions
hold the 'netif_addr_lock' spinlock.

Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.
This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.
There are a variety of indentation styles found.

b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:

By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

The array data is only populated with valid information from userspace
if cmd != SIOCDEVPRIVATE, other cases the array contains garbage on
the stack. The subsequent switch statement acts on a subcommand in
data[0] which could be any garbage value if cmd is SIOCDEVPRIVATE which
seems incorrect to me. Instead, just return EOPNOTSUPP for the case
where cmd == SIOCDEVPRIVATE to avoid this issue.
As a side note, I suspect that the original intention of the code
was for this ioctl to work just for cmd == SIOCDEVPRIVATE (and the
current logic is reversed). However, I don't wont to change the current
semantics in case any userspace code relies on this existing behaviour.

napi_complete_done() allows to opt-in for gro_flush_timeout,
added back in linux-3.19, commit 3b47d30396ba
("net: gro: add a per device gro flush timer")
This allows for more efficient GRO aggregation without
sacrifying latencies.

Many drivers initialize uselessly n_priv_flags, n_stats, testinfo_len,
eedump_len & regdump_len fields in their .get_drvinfo() ethtool op.
It's not necessary as these fields is filled in ethtool_get_drvinfo().

This howto made sense in the 1990s when users had to manually configure
ISA cards with jumpers or vendor utilities, but with the implementation
of PCI it became increasingly less and less relevant, to the point where
it has been well over a decade since I last updated it. And there is
no value in anyone else taking over updating it either.
However the references to it continue to spread as boiler plate text
from one Kconfig file into the next. We are not doing end users any
favours by pointing them at this old document, so lets kill it with
fire, once and for all, to hopefully stop any further spread.
No code is changed in this commit, just Kconfig help text.

We should prefer `struct pci_device_id` over `DEFINE_PCI_DEVICE_TABLE` to
meet kernel coding style guidelines. This issue was reported by checkpatch.

net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone.
This does that.

Few network drivers really supports frag_list : virtual drivers.
Some drivers wrongly advertise NETIF_F_FRAGLIST feature.
If skb with a frag_list is given to them, packet on the wire will be
corrupt.
Remove this flag, as core networking stack will make sure to
provide packets that can be sent without corruption.

The driver core clears the driver data to NULL after device_release
or on probe failure. Thus, it is not needed to manually clear the
device driver data to NULL.

Add a protocol argument to the VLAN packet tagging functions. In case of HW
tagging, we need that protocol available in the ndo_start_xmit functions,
so it is stored in a new field in the skb. The new field fits into a hole
(on 64 bit) and doesn't increase the sks's size.

Rename the hardware VLAN acceleration features to include "CTAG" to indicate
that they only support CTAGs. Follow up patches will introduce 802.1ad
server provider tagging (STAGs) and require the distinction for hardware not
supporting acclerating both.

Emitting netdev_alloc_skb and netdev_alloc_skb_ip_align OOM
messages is unnecessary as there is already a dump_stack
after allocation failures.
Other trivial changes around these removals:
Convert a few comparisons of pointer to 0 to !pointer.
Change flow to remove unnecessary label.
Remove now unused variable.
Hoist assignment from if.

Use strlcpy where possible to ensure the string is \0 terminated.
Use always sizeof(string) instead of 32, ETHTOOL_BUSINFO_LEN
and custom defines.
Use snprintf instead of sprint.
Remove unnecessary inits of ->fw_version
