2024-11-03iio: fix write_event_config signatureJulien Stephan
write_event_config callback use an int for state, but it is actually a boolean. iio_ev_state_store is actually using kstrtobool to check user input, then gives the converted boolean value to write_event_config. Fix signature and update all iio drivers to use the new signature. 2024-05-27iio: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0Uwe Kleine-König
These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. This prepares putting driver_data in an anonymous union which requires either no initialization or named designators. But it's also a nice cleanup on its own. While add it, also remove commas after the sentinel entries. 2023-05-21iio: Switch i2c drivers back to use .probe()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. Letting the compiler remove these functions when the kernel is built without CONFIG_PM_SLEEP support is simpler and less error prone than the use of #ifdef based config guards. Removing instances of this approach from IIO also stops them being copied into new drivers. 2021-03-25iio: temperature: tmp007: use device-managed functions in probeAlexandru Ardelean
This change converts the driver to use device-managed functions in the probe function. The power-down call is handled now via a devm_add_action_or_reset() hook, and then devm_iio_device_register() can be used to register the IIO device. The final aim here would be for IIO to export only the device-managed functions of it's API. That's a long way to go and this a small step in that direction. 2020-06-14iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean
This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. 2017-01-30iio: tmp007: Fix `name` attribute ABILars-Peter Clausen
The IIO ABI specifies the name field of the IIO device as: Description of the physical chip / device for device X. Typically a part number. The tmp007 driver currently uses the name of the parent device instead. Change this to the part name to be in accordance with the ABI. This patch adds support for TI TMP007 - 16 bit IR thermopile sensor with integrated Math engine. Sensor takes care of calculating the object temperature with the help of calibrated constants stored in non-volatile memory, thereby reducing the calculation overhead.
