KVM selftests changes and a few KVM x86 fixes for 7.4
- Fix emulation of VMPTRST and VMPTRLD when eVMCS is in-use to match real
Hyper-V's behavior.
- Saturate L2's TSC frequency if stacking L1 and L2 scaling multipliers
exceeds what hardware supports, as attempting to run L2 with an illegal
multiplier will either cause VM-Entry to fail (VMX) or trigger a #GP when
writing MSR_AMD64_TSC_RATIO (SVM). The #GP is thankfully benign in the
grand scheme as even "unsafe" WRMSRs have exception fixup.
- Rework KVM selftest's handling of memory regions so that PPC can force its
page table allocations to be naturally aligned.
- Clean up selftest's VMX instruction helpers, and drop an absurd number of
completely useless return values, e.g. functions that unconditionally
return %true and then have every caller assert success.
- Add selftests support for Zhaoxin CPUs.
- Overhaul the TSC scaling test to add a regression test for the saturation
behavior, and to increase its coverage in general.
- Fix selftests usage various NUMA syscalls to account for an undocumented,
but known since 2007, off-by-one kernel bug. Add helpers to try and avoid
re-introducing the same flaws in the future.
- Automatically run xAPIC IPI migration test (between NUMA nodes) when
possible, as the entire point of the test is verify KVM's handling of page
migration of the APIC backing page.
- Misc cleanups.

Add HW PTW feature when VM is created. This feature is detected firstly,
and enabled if it is available on the host machine. With HW PTW feature
enabled, refill exception will not happen and it is not necessary to set
TLB refill exception entry.

Now that LoongArch uses KVM_GUEST_PAGE_TABLE_MIN_PADDR for its page table
page allocations, use the common vm_alloc_page_table() instead of open
coding the same.
Opportunistically drop the assert that the allocation succeeded, as the
allocator itself guarantees success.
No functional change intended.

Use the common minimum GPA for page tables (0x180000) on LoongArch instead
of LoongArch's custom minimum of 0x200000, so that LoongArch can use
vm_alloc_page_table() instead of open coding a rough equivalent. There are
no known reasons why LoongArch can't use a lower, less-aligned minimum.
The more-aligned value was originally selected to support huge pages for
the guest, but that only requires the address of the final allocation to be
aligned, the addresses of page table pages is irrelevant on that front.

Replace all variations of "paddr" variables in KVM selftests with "gpa",
with the exception of the ELF structures, as those fields are not specific
to guest virtual addresses, to complete the conversion from vm_paddr_t to
gpa_t.

Replace all variations of "vaddr" variables in KVM selftests with "gva",
with the exception of the ELF structures, as those fields are not specific
to guest virtual addresses, to complete the conversion from vm_vaddr_t to
gva_t.
Opportunistically use gva_t instead of u64 for relevant variables, and
fixup indentation as appropriate.

Now that KVM selftests use gva_t instead of vm_vaddr_t, drop "vaddr_" from
the core memory allocation APIs as the information is extraneous and does
more harm than good. E.g. the APIs don't _just_ allocate virtual memory,
they allocate backing physical memory and install mappings in the guest
page tables. And as proven by kmalloc() and malloc(), developers generally
expect that allocations come with a working virtual address.
Opportunistically clean up the function comment for vm_alloc(), and drop
the misleading and superfluous comments for its wrappers.

Use u8 instead of uint8_t to make the KVM selftests code more concise

This commit was generated with the following command:
git ls-files tools/testing/selftests/kvm | xargs sed -i 's/uint8_t/u8/g'
Then by manually adjusting whitespace to make checkpatch.pl happy.

Use u64 instead of uint64_t to make the KVM selftests code more concise
and more similar to the kernel (since selftests are primarily developed
by kernel developers).
This commit was generated with the following command:
git ls-files tools/testing/selftests/kvm | xargs sed -i 's/uint64_t/u64/g'
Then by manually adjusting whitespace to make checkpatch.pl happy.
Include <linux/types.h> in include/kvm_util_types.h, iinclude/test_util.h,
and include/x86/pmu.h to pick up the tools-defined u64. Arguably, all
headers (especially kvm_util_types.h) should have already been including
stdint.h to get uint64_t from the libc headers, but the missing dependency
only rears its head once KVM uses u64 instead of uint64_t.

Introduce a basic PMU test that verifies hardware event counting for
four performance counters. The test enables the events for CPU cycles,
instructions retired, branch instructions, and branch misses, runs a
fixed number of loops, and checks that the counter values fall within
expected ranges. It also validates that the host supports PMU and that
the VM feature is enabled.

Add a "struct kvm_mmu" to track a given MMU instance, e.g. a VM's stage-1
MMU versus a VM's stage-2 MMU, so that x86 can share MMU functionality for
both stage-1 and stage-2 MMUs, without creating the potential for subtle
bugs, e.g. due to consuming on vm->pgtable_levels when operating a stage-2
MMU.
Encapsulate the existing de facto MMU in "struct kvm_vm", e.g instead of
burying the MMU details in "struct kvm_vm_arch", to avoid more #ifdefs in
____vm_create(), and in the hopes that other architectures can utilize the
formalized MMU structure if/when they too support stage-2 page tables.
No functional change intended.
