rockchip_pd_attach_dev() treated every of_clk_get() error as the end
of the clock list, so a clock that exists but is not available yet
(e.g. -EPROBE_DEFER) was silently skipped and the device ended up
without pm_clk management. Only -ENOENT means there are no more
clocks.

In addition to checking for CPU latency constraints when checking if
OK to power down a domain, also check for QoS latency constraints in
all devices of a domain and use that in determining the final latency
constraint to use for the domain.
Since cpu_system_power_down_ok() is used for system-wide suspend, the
per-device constratints are only relevant if the LATENCY_SYS QoS flag

Add a new internal helper function genpd_for_each_child() that recursively
iterates over all devices in a PM domain and its child domains (subdomains).
This helper is useful for governors and other core PM domain code that needs
to examine or apply operations to all devices within a domain hierarchy.
The function takes a callback that is invoked for each device, and supports
early termination if the callback returns a non-zero value.
The helper is defined in a new internal header drivers/pmdomain/core.h and
implemented in drivers/pmdomain/core.c, making it available to other PM
domain subsystem components.
The first user of this helper is the cpu_system_power_down_ok() governor
function, which uses it to check device QoS latency constraints across the
entire domain hierarchy.

On i.MX8MP the VPU blk-ctrl exposes G1, G2 and VC8000E as three separate
genpds, each serialized only by its own genpd lock, so their power_on and
power_off callbacks can run concurrently on SMP.
The sequences are not independent: they share the VPUMIX bus domain, the
VPU_NOC and the ADB400 handshake. On power up the GPC cannot ack-verify
the ADB400 handshake - the ack only completes once blk-ctrl sets the bus
clk-en bit - so it just waits a fixed delay instead of polling hskack. A
sibling transition landing inside another domain's reset window disturbs
that shared clock and handshake timing, the victim's reset does not take
effect, and its block registers read back all zeros: the decoder times
out or the encoder fails its format check.
Serialize the blk-ctrl reset sequence with a per-blk-ctrl mutex; the
driver deliberately avoids a genpd hierarchy, so the genpd core gives no
cross-sibling serialization.

In rockchip_pm_add_one_domain(), there's the check (most probably for the
case where the "reg" prop has an unexpected value?) which doesn't make much
sense as the variable pd_info will be NULL iff pmu->info-> domain_info is
NULL and the variable id is 0. What does make sense there is checking
pd_info->pwr_mask and pd_info->req_mask which can't both be 0 for a valid

Lockdep reports a possible circular locking dependency when attaching
devices to an MDLC PM domain:
- During creation of the singleton PM domain:
A. r8a78000_genpd_always_on_singleton() takes r8a78000_mdlc_lock,
B. pm_genpd_init() takes gpd_list_lock.
- During attachment of devices to PM domains:
A. pm_genpd_add_device() takes gpd_list_lock,
B. r8a78000_mdlc_attach_dev() takes r8a78000_mdlc_lock.
As the former is done only once, before any devices are attached, such a
AB-BA deadlock cannot really happen. Fix this false positive by
introducing a separate lock to protect the creation of the singleton
domain.

Add a generic power domain provider on top of the RISC-V Platform
Management Interface (RPMI) device power service group, reached through
an SBI MPXY channel.
The driver enumerates the device power domains advertised by the
platform microcontroller, queries their attributes and initial state,
and registers them as an onecell genpd provider so that devices can
reference them through the "power-domains" property.

It's not always possible for a genpd provider to know the initial status
for its corresponding PM domain(s). To register the PM domain in a safe
state, the genpd provider driver may therefore have to initialize the
genpd's status to be powered off, as a way to prevent the PM domain from
being used when it actually could be powered off.
In these cases we may end up to power on a PM domain through the genpd
subsystem, while from the HW point of view it may already be powered on.
Under these circumstances, it may also be required to keep the PM domain
powered on until all the consumer devices have been probed. In other words,
until the ->sync_state() callback for the genpd provider in question have
been called.
To support this behaviour for a genpd provider, let's introduce a new genpd
configuration, GENPD_FLAG_POWER_UNKNOWN.

A driver for a non-CPU device that is attached to a CPU PM domain (the
genpd has the GENPD_FLAG_CPU_DOMAIN configuration set), is currently not
able to power on the PM domain. More precisely, to power on a CPU PM domain
one of its corresponding CPUs needs to be woken up if they are idle.
The current support for a non-CPU device is that its driver can only
prevent an already powered on CPU PM domain from being powered off. This
leads to problems for a driver while probing its device or when it needs to
call pm_runtime_get_sync() to turn on the power for it. From the driver
point of view it looks like it all works fine, but when accessing the
device it may end up with various errors as the device may not be fully
powered on.
To fix the behavior for these types of devices, let's adjust the behaviour
in genpd_power_on() to wake up an idle CPU that belongs to it, in cases
when it's needed.

This catches both the set of kmalloc() uses added since the first

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux
Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"Mostly the usual clk driver updates and new SoC additions plus
non-critical data fixes for things that weren't used yet.
One thing that's new here in the core is SSC spread spectrum support
(SSC) in the clk provider API. The idea is that DT authors will
configure SSC for certain clks and they'll be configured at clk
provider registration time or when a consumer device is probed,
similar to how we handle assigned clk rates or parents.
On the clk driver side we have Qualcomm adding almost half the diff
because they add support for 4 different SoCs and then a long tail of
other SoCs like Mediatek, Renesas, Rockchip, SpaceMiT, etc. add more
SoC support this time around. Luckily it's mostly clk data for these
new SoCs because the actual clk_ops are already there. Beyond the new
drivers we get all the little fixups for more compilation coverage or
usage of more modern APIs. That all looks normal.
Finally, I kinda buried the lede, I'm bringing on Brian and Jerome to
help out with maintaining the clk subsystem. The current working model
is already semi-distributed in that silicon vendors typically take
care of their drivers and send me pull requests but I'm becoming a
bottleneck for new drivers and core framework review because this has
become a 100% volunteer effort on my part.
Mike is stepping down after all these years (thanks Mike!) and that
jump started the conversation around finding co-maintainers. Brian and
Jerome have graciously offered to help me with the work load, meaning
in the future they'll be sending pull requests and committing directly
to the clk.git tree. They've both been around on the list for a while,

remove unused rule arguments, and use path fragments for alias
destinations
- IRQ:
- Make irq::Registration compatible with lifetime-bound drivers
by removing the 'static bound on Handler/ThreadedHandler and
replacing Devres<RegistrationInner> with direct
request_irq()/free_irq() calls. Handlers can now directly own
lifetime-bound device resources
- PCI:
- Convert IrqVectorRegistration to a lifetime-annotated owning
type, giving drivers explicit control over the allocation
lifetime. IrqVector embeds a resolved IrqRequest, making the
conversion infallible. Remove the redundant
request_irq()/request_threaded_irq() wrappers from pci::Device.
- Add pci_irq_type() C helper and expose it via irq_type() on
IrqVectorRegistration and IrqVector, returning PCI_IRQ_MSIX,
PCI_IRQ_MSI, or PCI_IRQ_INTX.
- Mark pci::Device refcount methods inline
- Serdev:
- Add Rust abstractions for the serial device bus, including
serdev::Driver trait, serdev::Device wrapping struct
serdev_device, and serdev::Adapter implementing
RegistrationOps. Includes a sample driver. Markus Probst takes
over as serdev maintainer for both C and Rust code
- Misc:
- Split ForLt into a base trait (providing the Of<'a> GAT) and an
unsafe CovariantForLt subtrait guaranteeing covariance,
enabling invariant types (e.g. those containing Mutex<&'bound T>)
to participate in the ForLt abstraction.
- Fix Coherent read past EOF returning -ERANGE instead of zero.
- Fix firmware example UB by avoiding null-pointer ARef
misc:
- Avoid iattr allocation in kernfs listxattr by using
kernfs_iattrs_noalloc().
- Unregister SoC bus on early device registration failure.
- Remove unused DMA_FENCE_TRACE Kconfig symbol.
- Fix /sys/module path in comment.
- Refactor ISA bus init to remove nested blocks.
- Remove redundant nodemask clears in numa_init().
- Add kernel-doc for fwnode_operations and sys_soc.h, mark
internal property data as private for kernel-doc, and add
property.h/fwnode.h to driver-api infrastructure docs.
- Add MAINTAINERS entry for sys_soc.h"

mtk_mfg_attach_dev() reads prev_o on the first iteration of its loop,
in "if (prev_o && prev_o->freq == o->freq)", before prev_o is assigned
at the end of the loop body. On that first iteration, evaluating prev_o
reads an indeterminate value. If it is non-NULL, the condition
dereferences a stale or invalid pointer, potentially faulting or
incorrectly skipping the first OPP.
Initialize prev_o to NULL. This matches the intent as well: there is no
previous OPP to compare against on the first iteration.
Found with Clang's -Wconditional-uninitialized.

Add a minimal Module Controller driver for the R-Car X5H (R8A78000) SoC.
For now this just supports the always-on power domains, and dummy module
clocks and resets for the serial console (which is enabled by the boot
loader).

MXC and MMCX were initially omitted as they were believed to have no
consumers, and they were not present downstream either.

Currently, scmi_pd_set_perf_state() treats a performance state of 0 as
invalid and returns -EINVAL. As a result, devices attached to SCMI
performance domains can report failures when relinquishing their
performance vote.
The OPP framework use performance state 0 to indicate that no performance
vote is required. For example, dev_pm_opp_set_rate(dev, 0) is commonly
used (by firmware or linux) when a device is runtime suspended.
A zero performance state does not require any SCMI performance request
to be sent. Treat it as a no-op and return success instead of reporting
an error.

Depending on firmware, part of the MFG domains may be partially left ON
at boot time with kernel detecting PD as ON, while it's OFF.
Some of MFG cores may be left powered after bootloader, to let the ACP to
prefetch the GPU region when the display controller is brought up for a
continuous splash animation performed by downstream stack.
This doesn't play well with an eventual delay in probing upstream Panfrost
driver when the display controller is fully set up, as that would make
genpd's sync_state() to power off the domain while ACP tries to prefetch:
this is causing an AXI stall, effectively freezing the AP indefinitely.
In order to prevent trouble from happening, the sync_state() functionality
must be obliterated on all of the MFG domains: while this guarantees a
power leakage if the bootloader boots the kernel with MFG PDs partially
powered on, this is the only way to ensure stable operation of the SoC
during boot on devices with such firmware because, of course, those will
never officially receive a firmware update.
Fixes Kappa Chromebook hanging during system boot.

Convert CONFIG_IMX_SCU_PD from bool to tristate to allow building as a
loadable module. This is needed on Android devices using the Generic
Kernel Image (GKI), where SoC-specific drivers must be built as modules
rather than built into the core kernel image.
For i.MX8Q devices running Android with a GKI kernel, the SCU power
domain driver must be loadable. Without tristate support, power domains
cannot be properly initialized, preventing these systems from
functioning under GKI.
Use subsys_initcall() so that when built-in the power domain provider
probes before its consumers (e.g. the SCU clock driver at
device_initcall level), fixing "failed to attached the power domain"
warnings at boot. When built as a module, subsys_initcall() is
equivalent to module_init(). No module_exit() is provided because the
SCU power domain provider is a system-level resource that cannot be
safely removed at runtime.
Add MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() for OF-based module autoloading.

scpsys_get_bus_protection_legacy() looks up several legacy bus
protection regmaps from device-tree nodes.
Two error paths put the device node before checking whether the regmap
lookup failed, but still pass that node to dev_err_probe() with %pOF on
failure. If of_node_put() drops the last reference, the later %pOF
formatting can dereference a freed device node.
Keep the node reference until after the error message has been emitted in
the infracfg and SMI lookup paths. Also drop the SMI node before
returning when the SMI phandle is missing.
