Pull tty / serial driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the "big" set of tty and serial driver updates for 7.4-rc1.
It's not really all that big, it's been kind of quiet in this area of
the tree this development cycle in relation to other parts of the
tree. But still, included in here are:
- 8250 port updates and fixes
- 8250 driver cleanups by Jiri
- deletion of the obsolete moxa driver (making this pull request
remove more lines than added!)
- different serial driver updates for dma and other reported issues
All of these have been in linux-next with no reported problems"

Pull networking updates from Paolo Abeni:
"This includes a significant number of low-priority fixes - especially
in the NIC drivers area - that we deferred from the last few RCs in
the previous cycle, which can't be easily outlined in the synopsis
below.
Core & protocols:
- Continue the work on removing rtnl_lock dependencies:
- per-netns ARP and ND neighbour tables, with the default settings
now configurable per netns (inheritance from init_net is
controlled by the new net.core.neigh_inherit_init_net sysctl)
- RCU-protected configuration and rtnl_lock-less fill_info() for
hsr, netkit, sit, vlan and vxlan devices
- per-netns device unregistration for ip tunnel and gre devices
- use the netdev instance lock instead of rtnl_lock when reading
speed and duplex via sysfs
- batch the flushing of uncached routes at device unregistration
time, relieving rtnl_lock contention on netns dismantle.
- Add hardware pacing offload support, admin-controlled via a new
rtnetlink attribute, with sch_fq integration (implemented in idpf).
- Re-segment BIG TCP GSO packets into GSO packets fitting the egress
device limits instead of plain MSS-sized segments, improving
throughput for mixed BIG TCP / non-BIG TCP paths by up to 70%.
- Generate RSS keys that spread flows over all the RX queues; the
previous random keys could leave some queues unused.
- Optimize the bridge VLAN forwarding paths: cache the port-VLAN in
fdb entries and consider only VLAN members when flooding, for ~10%
more Mpps in the fdb forwarding path.
- A few TCP/IP performance improvements aimed at efficient cache
usage and reducing contention.
- Add the TCP ROCCET congestion control, a CUBIC variant aimed at
avoiding bufferbloat in cellular networks.
- Continue the conversion of getsockopt callbacks to sockopt_t.
- Add an ethtool command to list the front-facing ports of an
interface, including SFP cages and modules, using the phy_port
representation.
- Enable BIG TCP support for bareudp tunnels.
- Remove the IPV6_ADDRFORM socket option and disallow buggy TCP state
transitions (listen() + shutdown() + connect() and connect() +
connect(AF_UNSPEC) + listen()).
- Remove most BUG_ON()s from core packet processing, replacing them
with error paths.
Wireless:
- Latency improvements, including lockless station get/dump and
beacon updates, plus RTNL reduction and locking cleanups.
- Infrastructure for non-station TX/RX with MLO.
- NAN (Wi-Fi Aware) Instant Communication support and other NAN
improvements.
- Control frame Integrity Protocol (CIP) and protected TWT support.
- Improvements for AP regulatory checks.
Netfilter:
- Disable br_netfilter in user namespaces and schedule it for removal
in 2027.
- Restrict the raw table in nft_compat to the specific family, hook
and priority.
- Prepare the flowtable for mixed IPv4-over-IPv6 tunneling (and vice
versa).
- Use GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT for most netfilter allocations, for better
integration with memcg.
- Allow discovering conntrack zone filtering support in ctnetlink
dumps, and fix nfnetlink_hook handling of large dumps.
Deletions:
- Move the LLC type 2 sockets out of tree. There are no known users
and the code attracts a never-ending stream of LLM-driven fixes.
Device drivers:
- New drivers:
- Meta Platforms NIC (mpnic), the second-generation NIC from Meta
- initial skeleton of the Nebula-matrix NICs driver (nbl)
- X-Powers AC200/AC300 Fast Ethernet PHYs

- Intel:
- i40e: XDP metadata support for RX hash and VLAN tag
- ice: expose the E825 TSPLL state via the DPLL subsystem
- nVidia/Mellanox:

preparation for netdev support.
- reduce the memory used per offloaded TC rule

- support large io_uring zero-copy RX buffers
- Microsoft vNIC (mana):
- add BQL support

sdio_uart is an SDIO function driver, not part of the MMC/SDIO core.
Keeping it in drivers/mmc/core/ is misplaced: it registers to the SDIO
bus (sdio_register_driver) and only uses the public SDIO API from
include/linux/mmc/, with no dependency on any mmc core internals.
Other SDIO function drivers live under their respective functional
subsystem, e.g. the SDIO WiFi drivers are under drivers/net/wireless/.
sdio_uart should likewise be placed under its functional subsystem, tty,
just like the PCIe and I2C/SPI transport drivers (men_z135_uart,
sc16is7xx, max310x) that live under drivers/tty/serial/.
Historically almost all changes to this driver were tty API changes
(e.g. tty_operations adjustments, alloc_tty_driver removal), yet
scripts/get_maintainer.pl never listed the TTY maintainers while the
file lived under drivers/mmc/core/. Moving it under drivers/tty/serial/
makes get_maintainer.pl report the proper TTY/serial maintainers and
reviewers, which benefits future maintenance of this driver.
No functional change. The CONFIG_SDIO_UART symbol is intentionally kept
unchanged to avoid breaking existing configs; the dependency is updated
to 'TTY && MMC' accordingly.

Add mmc_send_tuning_timeout() which takes the data timeout in
milliseconds, and turn mmc_send_tuning() into a thin wrapper keeping
the current 150 ms, so there is no behaviour change for the existing
callers. This lets drivers pass a tighter timeout for software
tuning, e.g. hosts which scan the tuning window phase by phase.

The NXP IW610 SDIO chipset identifies itself with a base card ID
(0x0214) during the initial MMC bus scan, whereas the WLAN function
reports a different ID (0x0215).
Like the IW61x, the IW610 requires MMC_QUIRK_BLKSZ_FOR_BYTE_MODE for
correct byte-mode block size handling. Since SDIO fixups are applied
before function devices are enumerated, the quirk must be associated
with the base card ID rather than the WLAN function ID.
Add the SDIO_DEVICE_ID_NXP_IW610_BASE definition and apply the required
fixup in the SDIO quirk table.

mmc_of_find_child_device() returns a device node with its reference count
incremented. mmc_add_card() stores the reference before calling
device_add(), while the card is marked present only after device_add()
succeeds.
If device_add() fails, the callers release the card through
mmc_remove_card(). However, mmc_remove_card() only drops the OF node
reference for a present card, leaking the reference on this error path.
Move of_node_put() outside the present-card conditional so the reference
is released for both registered cards and card-add failures.

sdio_uart_add_port() allocates the transmit fifo before claiming a
slot in sdio_uart_table[]. When all UART_NR slots are taken, it
returns -EBUSY with the fifo still allocated, but the probe error
path only kfree()s the port, leaking the transmit fifo.
Free the fifo in the failure path of sdio_uart_add_port() itself so
the function retains nothing on error.

A host controller that uses sdio_signal_irq() schedules host->sdio_irq_work
from its interrupt handler. That work is only cancelled on the suspend
path (mmc_sdio_suspend()), not on the remove/free path, so a worker armed
just before the controller freed its IRQ can run after
mmc_host_classdev_release() has freed the host and dereference it through
container_of().

The mmcblk.perdev_minors module parameter is parsed as a signed int and
is used during mmc_blk_init() to compute the number of supported block
devices.
Passing perdev_minors=0 makes the init path divide by zero when it
computes max_devices. Negative values are invalid as well and would make
max_devices negative before it is later used as an IDA limit.

Since commit 7852028a35f0 ("mmc: block: register RPMB partition with
the RPMB subsystem"), each mmc RPMB partition is represented by two
device objects:
- the mmc-owned device (`rpmb->dev`, backing the legacy /dev/mmcblkXrpmb
char device) and
- the rpmb-core device (`rdev`, backing /dev/rpmbN).
The child RPMB device holds a reference to its parent, so the
parent's release callback cannot be invoked if the child device
is still registered.
Remove rpmb_dev_unregister() from the parent release handler and
unregister the child RPMB device in the remove path before tearing
down the parent device.
Also delete the extra blank line between mmc_blk_remove_rpmb_part()
and {.

Fix logic issues introduced by the kzalloc_flex() conversion in
mmc_test_alloc_mem() due to interaction with the __counted_by
annotation on the flexible array.
Bounds-checking sanitizers rely on the counter field reflecting the
allocated array size before any array access occurs. However, use
mem->cnt both as the allocation size and as the runtime insertion
index, causing incorrect indexing and potentially invalid bounds
tracking.
Initialize mem->cnt to the maximum allocated number of segments
immediately after kzalloc_flex(), then use a separate local index
variable to track successfully allocated entries. Update mem->cnt to
the actual number of initialized elements before returning or entering
the cleanup path.
Also rewrite mmc_test_free_mem() to use a forward for-loop, improving
readability and ensuring only initialized entries are freed.

numa_node in blk_mq_hw_ctx and the matching argument of
blk_mq_ops::init_request can be NUMA_NO_NODE (-1). Declared as
unsigned int, NUMA_NO_NODE becomes UINT_MAX and walks off

Switch the field and the callback prototype to int and update all

cpu_to_node(), kmalloc_node() and blk_alloc_flush_queue() already

When using the fixed-emmc-driver-type device tree property, the MMC core
correctly selects the driver strength for the card but fails to program
the host controller accordingly. This causes a mismatch where the card
uses the specified driver type while the host controller defaults to
Type B (since ios->drv_type remains zero).
Split the driver type programming logic to handle both fixed and dynamic
driver type selection paths. For fixed driver types, program the host
controller with the selected drive_strength value. For dynamic selection,
use the existing drv_type as before.
This ensures both the eMMC device and host controller use matching driver
strengths, preventing potential signal integrity issues.

The max_segs field is of type unsigned short, and if a host driver
sets an excessively large value, it may be truncated to zero. This
can cause mmc_alloc_sg() to call kmalloc_objs() with a zero size
allocation request, which leads to undefined behavior.
Under the SLUB allocator, kmalloc(0) returns a special pointer
(ZERO_SIZE_PTR). The subsequent 'if (sg)' check will evaluate to
true, and sg_init_table() will then attempt to access invalid memory,
resulting in a crash:

To prevent this, add a validation check in mmc_mq_init_request() to
detect when sg_len (derived from max_segs) is zero. If sg_len is zero,
we return an error and print an error message, allowing host driver
developers to identify and fix incorrect max_segs configuration.
This is a defensive measure that ensures the MMC core fails gracefully

Currently, the code uses the MQRQ_XFER_SINGLE_BLOCK flag to handle write
failures by retrying with single-block transfers. However, read failures
bypass this mechanism and instead use a dedicated legacy path mmc_blk_read_single()
that performs sector-by-sector retries.
Extend the MQRQ_XFER_SINGLE_BLOCK logic to cover multi-block read failures
as well. By doing so, we can remove the redundant and complex mmc_blk_read_single()
function, unifying the retry logic for both read and write operations under
a single, consistent, easier-to-maintain mechanism.

Due to errata i2493[0], multi-block write would still fail in retries.
With i2493, the MMC interface has the potential of write failures when
issuing multi-block writes operating in HS200 mode with excessive IO
supply noise.
While the errata provides guidance in hardware design and layout to
minimize the IO supply noise, in theory the write failure cannot be
resolved in hardware. The software solution to ensure the data integrity
is to add minimum 5us delay between block writes. Single-block write is
the practical way to introduce the delay.
This patch reuses recovery_mode flag, and switches to single-block
write in retry when multi-block write fails. It covers both CQE and
non-CQE cases.

UHS/DDR/HS200 modes require at least 4-bit bus support. Host controllers
that lack relevant capability registers rely on paring properties provided
by firmware, which may incorrectly set these modes. Now that mmc_validate_host_caps()
has been introduced to validate such configuration violations, let's also
add checks for UHS/DDR/HS200 modes.
This fixes an issue where, if the HS200/HS400 property is set while only
a 1-bit bus width is used, mmc_select_hs200() returns 0 without actually
performing the mode switch. Consequently, mmc_select_timing() proceeds
without falling back to mmc_select_hs(), leaving the eMMC device operating
in legacy mode (26 MHz) instead of switching to High Speed mode (52 MHz).

Kingston eMMC IY2964 and IB2932 takes a fixed ~2 seconds for each secure
erase/trim operation regardless of size - that is, a single secure
erase/trim operation of 1MB takes the same time as 1GB. With default
calculated 3.5MB max discard size, secure erase 1GB requires ~300 separate
operations taking ~10 minutes total.
Add a card quirk, MMC_QUIRK_FIXED_SECURE_ERASE_TRIM_TIME, to set maximum
secure erase size for those devices. This allows 1GB secure erase to
complete in a single operation, reducing time from 10 minutes to just 2

Some eMMC vendors need to report manufacturing dates beyond 2025 but are
reluctant to update the EXT_CSD revision from 8 to 9. Changing the
Updating the EXT_CSD revision may involve additional testing or
qualification steps with customers. To ease this transition and avoid a
full re-qualification process, a workaround is needed. This
patch introduces a temporary quirk that re-purposes the year codes
corresponding to 2010, 2011, and 2012 to represent the years 2026, 2027,
and 2028, respectively. This solution is only valid for this three-year
period.
After 2028, vendors must update their firmware to set EXT_CSD_REV=9 to
continue reporting the correct manufacturing date in compliance with the
JEDEC standard.
The `MMC_QUIRK_BROKEN_MDT` is introduced and enabled for all Sandisk
devices to handle this behavior.

JEDEC JESD84-B51B which was released in September 2025, increases the
manufacturing year limit for eMMC devices. The eMMC manufacturing year
is stored in a 4-bit field in the CID register. Originally, it covered
1997–2012. Later, with EXT_CSD_REV=8, it was extended up to 2025. Now,
with EXT_CSD_REV=9, the range is rolled over by another 16 years, up to
2038.
The mapping is as follows:

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

"TYPE *".

Pull printk updates from Petr Mladek:
- Allow creaing nbcon console drivers with an unsafe write_atomic()
callback that can only be called by the final nbcon_atomic_flush_unsafe().
Otherwise, the driver would rely on the kthread.
It is going to be used as the-best-effort approach for an
experimental nbcon netconsole driver, see
https://lore.kernel.org/r/20251121-nbcon-v1-2-503d17b2b4af@debian.org
Note that a safe .write_atomic() callback is supposed to work in NMI
context. But some networking drivers are not safe even in IRQ
context:
https://lore.kernel.org/r/oc46gdpmmlly5o44obvmoatfqo5bhpgv7pabpvb6sjuqioymcg@gjsma3ghoz35
In an ideal world, all networking drivers would be fixed first and
the atomic flush would be blocked only in NMI context. But it brings
the question how reliable networking drivers are when the system is
in a bad state. They might block flushing more reliable serial
consoles which are more suitable for serious debugging anyway.
- Allow to use the last 4 bytes of the printk ring buffer.
- Prevent queuing IRQ work and block printk kthreads when consoles are
suspended. Otherwise, they create non-necessary churn or even block
the suspend.
- Release console_lock() between each record in the kthread used for
legacy consoles on RT. It might significantly speed up the boot.
- Release nbcon context between each record in the atomic flush. It
prevents stalls of the related printk kthread after it has lost the
ownership in the middle of a record
- Add support for NBCON consoles into KDB
- Add %ptsP modifier for printing struct timespec64 and use it where
