Pull SoC devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This is a rather large update of over 1000 non-merge commits touching
devicetree files and bindings.
A few notable SoC were added this time:
- Apple M4 and A18 Pro are used in laptops, these follow the M3 model
added in 7.2.
- Google Laguna (aka Tensor G5) is used last year's Pixel phone
generation. Unlike the earlier Tensor chips, this is not based on
Samsung's Exynos family design but starts a new chip family.
- Qualcomm's Hawi and Nord SoCs are two powerful chips using the
custom Oryon cores. Product names and applications are so far not
known, which means that Qualcomm is doing something right by
upstreaming kernel support early.
The ST stm32mp23xc/stm32mp25xc SoC support was previously removed
because there were no users upstream, but they are back now that
boards have shown up. Renesas RZ/G2M v3.0 (R8A774A3) is just a minor
variation of the already supported SoC.
In total, there are 81 new dts files for individual boards, and they
are all over the place. Only one riscv based machine is added, the
Milk-V Meles SBC using the T-Head th1520 chip. For 32-bit Arm, we have
13 new boards. About half are industrial embedded boards using NXP
i.MX6/7 chips, the rest are older products: two Amazon tablets, two
Motorola phones and two SoM boards.
Everything else is 64-bit Arm:
- many industrial embedded boards using NXP layerscape, NXP i.MX8/9,
Qualcomm Hamoa, ST stm32mp2, Rockchip rk35xx, and Renesas RZ/G2
SoCs
- Laptops and tablets using Apple M4, Qualcomm Snapdragon X2,
Snapdragon X1 Elite and Allwinner A133 chips
- Valve Steam Frame VR headset using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Seven handheld game consoles using Qualcomm Dragonwing qcs8550
- Mobile phones using Google Tensor G5, Samsung Exynos 850, and
various Qualcomm Snapdragon chips
Aside from the new stuff, there is still a lot going on for existing
socs and boards, including GPU hardware support on MediaTek MT8173
based laptops. Most patches actually add features this time, as the
compile-time diagnostic changes are slowing down"

Apple SoC DTS changes for 7.4
- Initial device trees for all machines with the base M4 SoC and the
A18 Pro based MacBook Neo. As usual, the PMGR nodes are responsible
for the majority of the diffstat. This is enough to boot with all
cores to a serial console but future work will be required to make
these useful for users.
- Fixes for a whole bunch of dt-check-style issues for M1/M2/M3

Convert the mediatek,mt2701-scpsys binding to DT schema. The mt6735 and
mt6765 don't exist anywhere. The mt8183 is covered by
mediatek,mt8195-scpsys.yaml schema. With those dropped, the clock-names
are trimmed to drop mm-*, isp-*, cam-*, and venc_lt. The venc_lt and
mfg_2d supplies are dropped as well.

Add a compatible for the TI BQ28Z620, a firmware derivative of the
BQ28Z610 that keeps its standard command set but drops the Battery Trip
Point feature and relocates much of the data flash as a result.
Keep it standalone rather than falling back to ti,bq28z610, as software
programming the BQ28Z610 data flash layout would corrupt the
configuration of a BQ28Z620.

ocv-capacity-table-N is capped at 100 points, while the capacity percent
in each point may be anything from 0 to 100. A table with a point for
every percent, both ends included, needs 101 and does not fit. Raise the
cap to 101.
power_supply_get_battery_info() sizes each table from the property, so
no kernel change is needed.

AB8500 and AB8505 expose different charger interrupt sets. Add a unique
AB8505 charger compatible with the AB8500 compatible as its fallback.
Use the variant-specific string to require the fourteen main and USB
charger interrupts on AB8500 and the nine USB charger interrupts on
AB8505.
Also clarify that autopower_cfg describes the AB8500 facility, since the
corresponding AB8505 register bit is reserved.

As per mailing-list discussions [1] [2] [3], we want to delete the
following old file from the device-tree bindings that live in the
Linux kernel git tree:
* Documentation/devicetree/bindings/mailbox/mailbox.txt
The old .txt file did have some descriptive text about what some of
the properties meant. Those have been added to the dt-schema
repository in a pull request [4].
Also remove dangling references to `mailbox.txt` across all remaining
device-tree binding documentation files.

similar to its sibling bq27z561. Unlike bq27z561, bq27z746 includes
some protection logic and can drive external MOSFETs. The register map
is a subset of the one found in bq27z561, with bq27z561 having six
extra registers at the end at 0x70 - 0x7A.

The MAX17042 family binding references the generic power-supply schema,
but additionalProperties only recognizes properties declared directly by
this schema.
Use unevaluatedProperties so generic properties such as monitored-battery
are accepted while unknown properties remain rejected. Remove the local
power-supplies declaration because it is already inherited from
power-supply.yaml.

current-limit controls
Add three optional properties to the MAX8903 charger binding to
describe board-level GPIO control of the DC and USB input current
limits:
DC input (TA / DOK pin):
- dc-current-limit-gpios (1..4 GPIOs): mux control lines feeding
the MAX8903 IDC resistor mux;
- dc-current-limit-mapping (uint32-matrix of {microamps,
gpio_bit_pattern} pairs): the available current levels and the
GPIO bit pattern that selects each level.
USB input (USB / UOK pin):
- usb-current-limit-gpios: a single GPIO driving the IUSB pin.
The IUSB pin is silicon-fixed by the MAX8903 datasheet (Pin
Description): low selects 100 mA, high selects 500 mA. Only
the GPIO mapping is board-specific; the current values are
not exposed in DT.
A dependentRequired block ties dc-current-limit-gpios and
dc-current-limit-mapping together so an incomplete DT cannot pass
validation with only one half of the pair.
These let userspace clamp the input draw via the standard
POWER_SUPPLY_PROP_INPUT_CURRENT_LIMIT power_supply attribute. The HP
TouchPad uses both: two TLMM lines select between 0.5 A, 1.0 A,
1.5 A and 2.0 A DC input current limits behind the MAX8903B
charger, and a third TLMM line picks the IUSB 100 mA / 500 mA
limit.
These are purely additive; existing platforms remain unaffected.

There is no use of double colon '::' in YAML. OTOH, the literal style
block, e.g. using '|' treats all characters as content [1] therefore
single use of ':' in descriptions is perfectly fine, whenever '|' is
used.
Cleanup existing code, so the confusing style won't be re-used in new
contributions.
