Pull SoC devicetree updates from Arnd Bergmann:
"This is a rather large update of over 1000 non-merge commits touching
devicetree files and bindings.
A few notable SoC were added this time:
- Apple M4 and A18 Pro are used in laptops, these follow the M3 model
added in 7.2.
- Google Laguna (aka Tensor G5) is used last year's Pixel phone
generation. Unlike the earlier Tensor chips, this is not based on
Samsung's Exynos family design but starts a new chip family.
- Qualcomm's Hawi and Nord SoCs are two powerful chips using the
custom Oryon cores. Product names and applications are so far not
known, which means that Qualcomm is doing something right by
upstreaming kernel support early.
The ST stm32mp23xc/stm32mp25xc SoC support was previously removed
because there were no users upstream, but they are back now that
boards have shown up. Renesas RZ/G2M v3.0 (R8A774A3) is just a minor
variation of the already supported SoC.
In total, there are 81 new dts files for individual boards, and they
are all over the place. Only one riscv based machine is added, the
Milk-V Meles SBC using the T-Head th1520 chip. For 32-bit Arm, we have
13 new boards. About half are industrial embedded boards using NXP
i.MX6/7 chips, the rest are older products: two Amazon tablets, two
Motorola phones and two SoM boards.
Everything else is 64-bit Arm:
- many industrial embedded boards using NXP layerscape, NXP i.MX8/9,
Qualcomm Hamoa, ST stm32mp2, Rockchip rk35xx, and Renesas RZ/G2
SoCs
- Laptops and tablets using Apple M4, Qualcomm Snapdragon X2,
Snapdragon X1 Elite and Allwinner A133 chips
- Valve Steam Frame VR headset using Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
- Seven handheld game consoles using Qualcomm Dragonwing qcs8550
- Mobile phones using Google Tensor G5, Samsung Exynos 850, and
various Qualcomm Snapdragon chips
Aside from the new stuff, there is still a lot going on for existing
socs and boards, including GPU hardware support on MediaTek MT8173
based laptops. Most patches actually add features this time, as the
compile-time diagnostic changes are slowing down"

Deprecate the db8500-prcmu-regulators node and make it optional as EPOD
control moves to generic power domains. External consumers of VAPE and
VSMPS2 now use the actual AB8500 or AB8505 buck regulators.

pinctrl-rk805.txt describes the pinmux controller that is part of the
Rockchip RK805 PMIC. The PMIC itself is already described by
rockchip,rk805.yaml, so the pinmux part belongs there as well: the
pinctrl node is a child of the PMIC node, not a separate device.
Fold the pinmux description into rockchip,rk805.yaml and drop the
standalone text binding.
While doing so, add the missing child node schema. The rockchip,rk805.yaml
schema ends with 'additionalProperties: false' but did not describe the pin
configuration child nodes at all, so a valid pinmux node like the one shown
in pinctrl-rk805.txt was rejected:
pmic@18 (rockchip,rk805): 'rk805-default-pins' does not match any of
the regexes: '^pinctrl-[0-9]+$'
The pin configuration nodes require 'pins'; without it a node that names
no pin is accepted silently, while the text binding it replaces listed
'pins' as required. The RK805 exposes two output-only GPIOs, so 'pins' is
an enum of gpio0 and gpio1 and a typo such as "gpio2" is caught.
The nodes may be direct children of the PMIC, or sit one level deeper
inside a "pinmux" grouping node, which is the layout the example of the
text binding used. pinctrl-bindings.txt allows the configuration nodes to
be grandchildren of the pin controller, and the driver reaches both
layouts: pinconf_generic_dt_node_to_map() parses the referenced node and
then walks its children. The example shows both.
The example also regains the gpio-controller and #gpio-cells lines that the
example of the text binding had.

Four of the MT6397 RTC's alarm registers use only their low bits; the
high byte of each is storage the clock and the alarm don't touch.
MediaTek's documentation names them RTC_NEW_SPARE0 to RTC_NEW_SPARE3 and
assigns the first to a fuel gauge, which is what a battery driver reads
at boot so that the reported capacity does not jump across a reboot.
They sit in the RTC's always-on domain, so the driver can offer them as
a battery-backed nvmem provider. Allow a board to lay cells out over
them.

The AC200 is an I2C-controlled mixed-signal companion IC containing
audio, video, RTC and Fast Ethernet PHY functions.
Describe the shared input clock, audio DAI, TV encoder display graph and
optional bandgap calibration in one parent node. The codec and TV encoder
do not need separate firmware nodes.
AC_LDOIN and TV_VCC are distinct 3.3 V supply inputs. Describe them
separately without requiring different external regulators. Require the
audio supply when the DAI is described and the video supply when the
display graph is present, while allowing PHY-only configurations.
Describe the optional shared INTB connection without an internal
interrupt domain. Cable detection status remains readable over I2C when
INTB is not connected. Include wired and unwired examples.
The Ethernet PHY is represented by a PHY package on its MDIO bus, with a
phandle back to this device for access to the package control registers.
It therefore does not require an MFD child node. The input clock must run
at 24 or 27 MHz when the Ethernet PHY is used, matching the rates encoded
by its documented clock selector.

There are also ROHM BD71851 and BD71885 PMICs out there. These are, from

ease both the maintaining the bindings and the reviewing process.

ROHM PMICs keep having similar functionalities from one generation to the
next. Keeping the device-trees describing these functionalities similar
helps users because:
1. They can re-use existing device-tree properties when switching from
one project, using a ROHM PMIC, to next project using newer
variant.
2. The users can find and re-use examples from old projects - even if
they never worked with ROHM PMICs before.
Similarly, introducing new and different properties for same
functionality previous variant had, will be adding confusion.
Sometimes the existing properties aren't 100% what reviewers would
prefer. When issues are minor or just cosmetic, changing the existing
properties is not feasible. Reviewers can't be expected to know which
properties are new, and which are existing - and this can lead to
unnecessary review discussion wasting time and energy from everyone.
Adding a common file for re-used ROHM PMIC properties should make it
clearly visible that a property is re-used, when a new PMIC binding
refers to this file instead of (re-)describing all the existing
bindings. This will also help keeping the common properties identical
across the variants.
Add new file listing commonly used ROHM PMIC properties.

The Loongson-2K0300 SoC exposes its chip ID registers through a syscon
interface. Add the specific compatible `loongson,ls2k0300-chipid-syscon`
to the allowed list of syscon bindings so that it can be referenced from
the thermal node via a phandle.

Add bindings for the Qualcomm MBG (Master Bandgap) temperature alarm
peripheral found on the PM8775 PMIC. Unlike the existing SPMI temp alarm
peripheral, the MBG peripheral supports both hot and cold threshold
monitoring across two programmable levels (LVL1 and LVL2), with interrupt
status reported via a fault status register over SPMI.

During the conversion, ti,hwmods has been made optional to resolve
dtbs_check warnings. Modern OMAP platforms do not require this

The compatible string "st,stmpe601" is a typo and does not correspond to
any existing STMPE device in either the driver or DTS files. The correct
compatible string is "st,stmpe610".
Fix the typo to ensure proper schema matching and eliminate the
following CHECK_DTBS warning:
