Add a shmem memory failure selftest to test the shmem memory failure is
correct after modifying shmem return value.
Specifically, test the expected behavior under various scenarios
combining page dirtiness (dirty vs clean) and failure types (hard vs
soft):
+ Dirty + Hard: Trigger a SIGBUS on injection, and trigger another
SIGBUS when reading the page again.
+ Dirty + Soft: No SIGBUS is triggered, and the original value can be
read successfully.
+ Clean + Hard: No SIGBUS is triggered on injection, but trigger a
SIGBUS when trying to read the page again.
+ Clean + Soft: No SIGBUS is triggered, and the page can be read
successfully.

The hard dirty_pagecache variant uses MADV_HWPOISON to exercise recovery
of a dirty file-backed page. The recovery path records -EIO in the
address_space mapping, which NFS later reports when the test closes the
file. This makes the test fail after the hwpoison checks have completed.
Skip this variant when the test file is on NFS. Keep the hard clean-page
and both soft-offline variants enabled because they use folio removal,
invalidation, or migration rather than recording a delayed writeback
error.
The unsupported-filesystem path in clean_pagecache() also returns without
closing the opened test file. Close the descriptor before skipping there
and in dirty_pagecache().

The memory-failure tests call cleanup() only after all result checks. A
failed ASSERT_* invokes fixture teardown and aborts the test, so it skips
cleanup() and leaves the injected page hardware-poisoned.
Invoke cleanup() from FIXTURE_TEARDOWN() instead. Guard it with
self->injection_attempted so tests that exit before injection do not try
to unpoison a page when no injection was attempted. Injection can poison
a page before returning an error or delivering SIGBUS, so teardown must
clean up after every injection attempt. This runs the existing HWPoison
and HardwareCorrupted checks on both normal and assertion-failure paths.

This patch adds a new testcase to validate memory failure handling for
dirty pagecache. This performs similar operations as clean pagecaches
except fsync() is not used to keep pages dirty.
This test helps ensure that memory failure handling for dirty pagecache
works correctly, including proper SIGBUS delivery, page isolation, and
recovery paths.

This patch adds a new testcase to validate memory failure handling for
clean pagecache. This test performs similar operations as anonymous pages
except allocating memory using mmap() with a file fd.
This test helps ensure that memory failure handling for clean pagecache
works correctly, including unchanged page content, page isolation, and
recovery paths.

Patch series "selftests/mm: add memory failure selftests", v4.
Introduce selftests to validate the functionality of memory failure.
These tests help ensure that memory failure handling for anonymous pages,
pagecaches pages works correctly, including proper SIGBUS delivery to user
processes, page isolation, and recovery paths.
Currently madvise syscall is used to inject memory failures. And only
anonymous pages and pagecaches are tested. More test scenarios, e.g.
hugetlb, shmem, thp, will be added. Also more memory failure injecting
methods will be supported, e.g. APEI Error INJection, if required.
This patch (of 3):
This patch adds a new kselftest to validate memory failure handling for
anonymous pages. The test performs the following operations:
1. Allocates anonymous pages using mmap().
2. Injects memory failure via madvise syscall.
3. Verifies expected error handling behavior.
4. Unpoison memory.
This test helps ensure that memory failure handling for anonymous pages
works correctly, including proper SIGBUS delivery to user processes, page
isolation and recovery paths.
