Right after the early FE setup, ADMAC gets told to start the DMA. This
can end up in a weird "slip" state with the channels transposed. Waiting
a bit fixes this; presumably this allows the clock to stabilize.

On the speakers PCM, this sequence:
1. Open playback
2. Open sense
3. Close playback
4. Close sense
would result in the sense FE being marked as clocks in use at (2), since
there is a clock provider (playback FE). Then at (4) this would WARN since
there is no driver any more when closing the in use clocks.
If (1) and (2) are reversed this does not happen, since the sense PCM is
not marked as using the clocks when there is no provider yet. So, check
explicitly whether the substream FE is a clock provider in be_prepare,
and skip everything if it isn't.

When multiple BEs are linked to a FE, the former behavior was to source
the data line from the DIN pin of the first BE only. Change this to
ORing the DIN inputs of all linked BEs.
As long as the unused slots on each BE's line are zeroed out and the
slots on the BEs don't overlap, this will work out well.

Support FEs being I2S clock consumers. This does not mean we support
accepting clocks from outside the SoC (although it paves the way for
that support in the future), but it means multiple FEs can attach to one
BE, one being clock producer and the rest clock consumers.
This is useful for grabbing I/V sense data on some machines, since in
such a scenario the format of the sense data on the I2S bus differs
from that of the audio data (the two formats differing in slot width).
With two FEs attached to the bus, we can split the responsibilities and
command different slot widths to the two.

Up until now FEs were always the clock providers -- feeding the clocks
on any ports (BEs) they are attached to. This will soon change and FEs
will be allowed to be clock consumers. Once that happens, the routing
of clocks and data will to some degree decouple.
In advance of the change, make preparations:
* Narrow down semantics of what was formerly the 'port_driver' field
to refer to clocks only.
* On 'startup' of BEs, separate the clock and data aspects of the port
setup.

The SERDES clusters in this peripheral take a long time to warm up.
We tried polling the reset bit until cleared, however this is not
a reliable signal of readiness to be configured. Only waiting
~25 us to give the cluster a chance to settle makes it work
reliably.
Increase the 2 us delay to 25 us and hope we never have to do this
again.

We have been used pcm_new()/pcm_free(), but switched to
pcm_construct()/pcm_destruct() to use extra parameters [1].
pcm_new()/free() had been removed [2], but each drivers are still
using such function naming. Let's name back to pcm_new()/pcm_free()
again.

After discussion with the devicetree maintainers we agreed to not extend
lists with the generic compatible "apple,mca" anymore [1]. Use
"apple,t8103-mca" as base compatible as it is the SoC the driver and
bindings were written for.

Current Kconfig menu at [ALSA for SoC audio support] has no rules.
So, some venders are using menu style, some venders are listed each drivers
on top page, etc. It is difficult to find target vender and/or drivers
because it is very random.

When the first driver for Apple Silicon was upstreamed we accidentally
included `default ARCH_APPLE` in its Kconfig which then spread to almost
every subsequent driver. As soon as ARCH_APPLE is set to y this will
pull in many drivers as built-ins which is not what we want.
Thus, drop `default ARCH_APPLE` from Kconfig.

We don't (and can't) configure the hardware correctly if the number of
channels exceeds the weight of the TDM mask. Report that constraint in
startup of FE.

After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.
Convert all drivers below sound/soc to use .remove(), with the eventual
goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and
.remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just
changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

*-objs suffix is reserved rather for (user-space) host programs while
usually *-y suffix is used for kernel drivers (although *-objs works
for that purpose for now).
Let's correct the old usages of *-objs in Makefiles.

Prepare for the coming implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by
attribute. Flexible array members annotated with __counted_by can have
their accesses bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS
(for array indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family
functions).
As found with Coccinelle[1], add __counted_by for struct mca_data.

The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored
and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a
quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this
quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns
void.
Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

When we fail to obtain a DMA channel, don't return a blanket -EINVAL,
instead return the original error code if there's one. This makes
deferring work as it should. Also don't print an error message for
-EPROBE_DEFER.

Fix the reset sequence of reads and writes that we invoke from within
the early trigger. It looks like there never was a SERDES_CONF_SOME_RST
bit that should be involved in the reset sequence, and its presence in
the driver code is a mistake from earlier.
Instead, the reset sequence should go as follows: We should switch the
the SERDES unit's SYNC_SEL mux to the value of 7 (so outside the range
of 1...6 representing cluster's SYNCGEN units), then raise the RST bit
in SERDES_STATUS and wait for it to clear.
Properly resetting the SERDES unit fixes frame desynchronization hazard
in case of long frames (longer than 4 used slots). The desynchronization
manifests itself by rotating the PCM channels.

From within the early trigger we are doing a reset of the SERDES unit,
but the final status read is on a bad address. Add the missing SERDES
unit offset in calculation of the address.

Replace the deassertion of the peripheral's shared reset with the
triggering of a pulse on it. This is what we should have been using all
along as the platform's custom is not leaving the reset asserted on
unused peripherals.

Move the requesting of DMA channels further down from 'probe' to
'pcm_new'. This is to spare the allocated DMA channel resources as we
typically only ever use one or two of the clusters for PCM streaming.
Before we would request DMA channels for all clusters.
(This is prompted by a change in the Audio DMA Controller driver, which
will now be allocating cache SRAM to channels.)

The MCA driver selects COMMON_CLK, which leads to misconfiguration
on platforms with HAVE_LEGACY_CLK (under compile test). Kconfig catches
the conflict with the following warning:

which appears to be because COMMON_CLK is selected but HAVE_CLK_PREPARE
is not. In the end it seems we had no business selecting COMMON_CLK from

In DAI ops, accesses to the native cluster (of the DAI), and to data of
clusters related to it by a DPCM frontend-backend link, should have
been synchronized by the 'pcm_mutex' lock at ASoC level.
What is not covered are the 'port_driver' accesses on foreign clusters
to which the current cluster has no a priori relation, so fill in
locking for that. (This should only matter in bizarre configurations of
sharing one MCA peripheral between ASoC cards.)
