For NAN data, the supplicant may derive and install GTKs to
transmit with. As multicast data encryption is supported only
with firmware versions that support adding NAN multicast
data station, allow GTK installation only with such FW
versions. Otherwise, do not install the GTK to the device.
For NAN management, there are no GTKs, but there are IGTKs
and BIGTKs, which need to be installed for the NAN broadcast
and NAN management stations. This is supported only with
firmware versions that allow adding NAN broadcast station
and NAN management station.
Handle both of these cases by adjusting the station mask
appropriately, returning a zero station mask for the GTK
and allowing that to not be an error/warning message.

The FW added a new station type to allow NAN multicast
data to be transmitted. The queue of the station is
opened by the firmware when all the NAN Peer NDI stations
associated with the NDI are scheduled at the same time.
Add the corresponding support in iwlmld:
- When a NAN data interface is added, add a NAN multicast
data station and allocate a queue to it.
- When a NAN data interface is removed, remove the NAN
multicast station.
- On the Tx path, when a multicast data frame is received
on a NAN data interface, direct it to the NAN multicast
data queue.

The following limitations arise from the current FW support for NAN:
- While NAN synchronization and discovery beacons are sent
internally by the firmware, the BIGTK is configured to the
auxiliary station associated with the NAN operation. Thus,
the beacons are transmitted unprotected.
- The auxiliary station cannot be configured with support for
management frame protection as this is not supported by the
firmware. Thus, there is no way to protect the SDFs and the
NAFs.
To overcome the above limitations the firmware introduced the
following new station types:
- NAN broadcast station: Used for NAN synchronization and
discovery. i.e., used for beacon transmissions. A BIGTK
can be configured to this station and thus beacons can
be transmitted with protection.
- NAN management station: Used for sending SDFs and NAFs.
This station can be configured with support for management
frame protection etc.
Modify the iwlmld logic to support the older and the newer
firmware designs. As no Tx queue is needed for the NAN
broadcast station, modify the internal station support
to allow adding/removing a station without a queue. In
addition, since no links are associated with these stations,
modify the internal station support to allow adding a station
without a link mask.

The firmware requires links for NAN which mac80211 doesn't use,
so introduce a new NAN link data structure that the driver has
for itself only, and handle the link command sending code for
NAN using this data structure, most of the bss_conf data isn't
used for NAN anyway, so those structures aren't useful.
With that, add, activate, deactivate or remove links depending
on the local NAN schedule updates.

Until now we maintained the NAN vif in the driver only. The fw used the
AUX MAC for sync and discovery operations.
But when we want to configure a local schedule, we need to add the MAC
first.
NAN_DATA interfaces are not added to the FW. Instead, the local
address of these interfaces are configured to the FW via the NAN MAC.
Add the add/remove/update operations for the NAN interface, and fill the
NAN special parameters in it.
Note that this doesn't fully implement the schedule change, but only the
addition/removal of the NAN MAC. The full schedule management
implementation will come in a later patch.

We used to have a fw id assignment in iwl_mld_init_vif since all interface
types that were added to the driver was immediately added to the FW as
well.
Since NAN was introduced, this is no longer the case - the NAN interface
is not added to the fw until a local schedule is configured.
For this vif we don't assign a fw id so it is 0 by default.
But later, when the vif is removed from the driver, we think that it has
a valid fw id (0) and we point fw_id_to_vif[0] to NULL.
fw_id_to_vif[0] might actually point to another vif with a valid fw id
0. In this case, we end up messing fw_id_to_vif.
Fix this by initializing a vif with a special invalid fw id, and by
exiting iwl_mld_rm_vif early for NAN interfaces.

In each MAC context, the firmware expects the wifi generation
data, i.e. whether or not HE/EHT (and in the future UHR) is
enabled on that MAC.
However, this is currently handled wrong in two ways:
- EHT is only enabled when the interface is also an MLD, but
we currently allow (despite the spec) connecting with EHT
but without MLO.
- when HE or EHT are used by TDLS peers, the firmware needs
to have them enabled regardless of the AP
Fix this by iterating setting up the data depending on the
interface type:
- for AP, just set it according to the BSS configuration
- for monitor, set it according to HW capabilities
- otherwise, particularly for client, iterate all stations
and then their links on the interface in question and set
according to their capabilities, this handles the AP and
TDLS peers. Re-calculate this whenever a TDLS station is
marked associated or removed so that it's kept updated,
for the AP it's already updated on assoc/disassoc.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

iwlwifi is the driver of all Intel wifi devices since 2008.
Since then, the hardware has changed a lot, but the firmware
API has changed even more. The need to keep one driver that
supports all those different APIs led us to introduce a new
architecture circa 2012 which allowed us to keep the same
interface to the hardware (DMAs, Tx queues, etc...) with a
new layer to implement the mid-layer between mac80211 and
the firmware. The first component is called the 'transport'
and the latter is called 'operation_mode' a.k.a op_mode.
In 2013 we took advantage of the new architecture to
introduce iwlmvm which allowed us to implement the, then,
new firmware API. This op_mode supports 7260 and up, those
devices supports support at least VHT.
Since then, wifi evolved and so did the firmware. It became
much bigger and took a lot of functionality from the driver.
It became increasingly hard to keep the same op_mode for the
newest devices and we experienced frequent regressions on
older devices. In order to avoid those regressions and keep
the code maintainable, we decided it was about time to start
a new op_mode.
iwlmld is a new op_mode that supports BE200 or newer if the
firmware being used is 97.ucode or newer. If the user has
an older devices or BE200 with .96.ucode, iwlmvm will be
loaded. Of course, this op_mode selection is seamless.
All the features supported in iwlmvm are supported in
iwlmld besides a few seldom used use cases: injection and
Hotspot 2.0. Those are under work.
A few points about the implementation:
* iwlmld doesn't have any mutexes, it relies on the
wiphy_lock
* iwlmld is more "resource oriented": stations, links and
interfaces are allocated and freed only after all the
relevant flows are completed.
* Firmware notifications' sizes are validated in a more
structured way.
We would love to see this new op_mode merged in 6.15. The
firmware for this new driver (.97.ucode) is not yet publicly
available but it'll be sent very soon.
