devm_drm_of_get_bridge() is deprecated, switch to
of_drm_get_bridge_by_endpoint(). As of_drm_get_bridge_by_endpoint() returns
a refcounted bridge, ensure it is put.
drm_panel.h becomes unused, drop the include.

Add support for the RZ/G3L LVDS encoder driver. It operates in single-link
mode with 4 lanes (Data) + 1 lane (Clock) and supports pixel clock rates
from 25 to 87 MHz. The LVDS module cannot be used at the same time as
MIPI-DSI. However, LVDS and the DSI interface share a peripheral clock and
the MIPI_DSI_PRESET_N reset signal. Also, the MIPI_DSI_CMN_RSTB and
MIPI_DSI_ARESET_N reset signals must be asserted before using the LVDS
module.

Add support for the MIPI DSI controller found on the Renesas RZ/G3L

Move rzg2l_mipi_dsi_global_timings and its array size out of the hardcoded
ARRAY_SIZE reference in rzg2l_mipi_dsi_dphy_init() and into the struct

their own timing tables rather than sharing a single global array, making
the driver more extensible without code duplication.

Add display_panic_screen to struct drm_plane_funcs. If set on a plane,
register a panic handler for the plane from the DRM core's panic
handling. Invoke this helper from the core to display a panic screen.
The new callback replaces get_scanout_buffer as signal for panic
support in a plane. Using get_scanout_buffer is now merely a detail
of the implementation. This will also free struct drm_scanout_buffer
for use cases besides panic handling.
With display_panic_screen in place, rename draw_panic_plane() to
drm_plane_helper_display_panic_screen() and make it available to DRM
drivers via drm_panic_helper.h. Do not change the implementation or
functionality of this code. drm_plane_helper_display_panic_screen()
still supports kernel messages, user messages and QR codes on various
color formats.
Then update all drivers that implement panic support. Provide the
initializer macro DRM_PANIC_PLANE_FUNCS that sets display_panic_screen
to drm_plane_helper_display_panic_screen(). If panic handling has
been disabled, it instead clears the callback. There's again no change
in functionality.
This logically splits panic handling into a set of entry points in the
DRM code and a set of helper functions provided by drivers. The core
invokes the driver's helper via callback, while the driver can tailor
the implementation to its needs. Panic handling now works like most
other interfaces in the DRM framework.
Locking and state-handling happens in the DRM core or helpers. Drivers
that receive a call to display_panic_screen can assume that no concurrent
modeset takes place on the plane or its CRTC.
Also update the documentation. Move information about locking and state
guarantees from drm_panic_trylock() to display_panic_screen, where
drivers authors can find it easily. Move information about the features
of the current implementation to drm_panic_helper_display_panic_screen().
v4:
- remove obsolete comment about fbcon interference (Jocelyn)
v2:
- only consider planes with get_scanout_buffer (Sashiko)
- set callback for planes create with drm_crtc_init() (Sashiko)
- return errno code from display_panic_screen

Currently, the driver supports register access mode for DSI command
transfer, which limits both TX and RX to only 16 Bytes long packets.
Implement support for DSI command TX using AXI memory access mode,
which extends the packet transfer length up to 128 Bytes long in LP
and 1024 Bytes long in HS. Support for DSI command RX using the AXI
access mode is not implemented due to missing test hardware.
The implementation allocates a DMAble 4k page. In case the command
transfer is longer than 16 Bytes, the payload is copied into the
page and sent out using the AXI access mode, otherwise the register
access mode is used.

Enabling DSI clocks on rcar-du needs some tricks as the DU dot clock is
provided by the DSI. Thus, we call rcar_mipi_dsi_pclk_enable() from the
crtc, when enabling the crtc.
With DSC in the pipeline, between the DU and the DSI, the above call
path is broken as the crtc tries to call rcar_mipi_dsi_pclk_enable() on
the DSC.
To solve this problem, make sure we store the DSI bridge to the
rcdu->dsi[] array, instead of the first bridge in the DSI pipeline
(which can be DSC), by checking the bridge's bridge->type.

Callers of of_drm_find_panel() and drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge()
receive a pointer with no reference held, creating a window where
the panel device can be unregistered and freed between the lookup
and first use (e.g., drm_panel_prepare()).
Fix the lookup function by acquiring a reference with drm_panel_get()
before returning, under panel_lock. Callers are now responsible for
calling drm_panel_put() when they no longer need the pointer.
For bridge drivers that immediately wrap the panel in a panel_bridge
(which acquires its own reference), release the lookup reference right
after the bridge creation call.
For analogix-anx6345, which stores the panel for direct use, release
the reference in the i2c remove path.
For platform drivers using analogix_dp_core with a component lifecycle
(exynos_dp, rockchip analogix_dp), release the lookup reference in the
platform remove() function. The panel_bridge created during bind() holds
a separate reference that devm cleanup releases after remove() returns.
Also fix devm_drm_of_get_bridge() and drmm_of_get_bridge() in
bridge/panel.c itself, update a second batch of drivers calling
of_drm_find_panel() or drm_of_find_panel_or_bridge() to release the
lookup reference after wrapping the panel in a bridge, and handle the
cases where a panel is found but cannot be used, dropping the reference
immediately in those paths.

Move pixel clock validation from a fixed encoder check to per SoC
constraints stored in rzg2l_du_device_info.
Pixel clock limits differ across SoCs in the RZ DU family and cannot be
expressed by a single shared rule. For example, RZ/G2UL and RZ/G2L limit
the DPAD0 pixel clock to a narrow window, while other SoCs such as
RZ/T2H require a wider operating range.
Add mode_clock_min and mode_clock_max fields to rzg2l_du_device_info to
describe the supported pixel clock range for each SoC. Update
rzg2l_du_encoder_mode_valid() to check these bounds when evaluating
DPAD0 outputs, returning MODE_CLOCK_LOW when the pixel clock falls
below mode_clock_min and MODE_CLOCK_HIGH when it exceeds mode_clock_max.
Populate the pixel clock limits for both the RZ/G2UL (R9A07G043U) and
RZ/G2L (R9A07G044) variants to a minimum of 20875 kHz and a maximum of
83500 kHz.

The KMS framework uses two slightly different definitions for the state
concept. For a given object (plane, CRTC, encoder, etc., so
drm_$OBJECT_state), the state is the entire state of that object.
However, at the device level, drm_atomic_state refers to a state update
for a limited number of objects.
Thus, drm_atomic_state isn't the entire device state, but only the full
state of some objects in that device. This has been an endless source of
confusion and thus bugs.
We can rename the drm_atomic_state structure to drm_atomic_commit to
make it less confusing.
This patch was created using:
rg -l drm_atomic_state | \
xargs sed -i 's/drm_atomic_state/drm_atomic_commit/g; s/drm_atomic_commit_helper/drm_atomic_state_helper/g'

drm_connector_attach_encoder()
shmob_drm_connector_create() can init the connector in two ways, based on
the 'if (sdev->pdata)':
1. manually in shmob_drm_connector_create(), or
2. delegating to drm_bridge_connector_init()
Whichever branch is taken, drm_connector_attach_encoder() is called
immediately after to attach the connector to the encoder.
Now drm_bridge_connector_init() calls drm_connector_attach_encoder() on the

Commit 3bce3fdd1ff2 ("drm: rcar-du: Don't leak device_link to CMM")
refactored CMM handling, and introduced an incorrect test for CMM
availability. When no CMM is present, the rcrtc->cmm field is NULL,
testing rcrtc->cmm->dev causes a NULL pointer dereference. This slipped
through testing as all tests were run with the CMM present.
Fix this issue by correctly testing for rcrtc->cmm.

of_drm_find_bridge() is deprecated. Move to its replacement
of_drm_find_and_get_bridge() which gets a bridge reference, and ensure it
is put when done.
We need to handle the two cases: when a panel_bridge is added and when it
isn't. So:
* in the 'else' case a panel_bridge is not added and bridge is found: use
of_drm_find_and_get_bridge() to get a reference to the found bridge
* in the 'then' case a panel_bridge is found using a devm function which
already takes a refcount and will put it on removal, but we need to take
another so the following code in this function always get exactly one
reference that it needs to put
In order to put the reference, add the needed drm_bridge_put() calls in the
existing cleanup function.

of_drm_find_bridge() is deprecated. Move to its replacement
of_drm_find_and_get_bridge() which gets a bridge reference, and ensure it
is put when done.
This is made somewhat simpler by the fact that 'bridge' is a local
variable.
However we need to handle both branches of the main if().
In the 'else' case, just switch to of_drm_find_and_get_bridge() to ensure
the bridge is not freed while in use in the function tail
(drm_bridge_attach() mainly).
In the 'then' case, devm_drm_panel_bridge_add_typed() already increments
the refcount using devres which ties the bridge allocation lifetime to the
device lifetime, so we would not need to do anything. However to have the
same behaviour in both branches take an additional reference here, so that
the bridge needs to be put whichever branch is taken without more
complicated logic.

The RZ/G2L hardware manual (Rev. 1.50, May 2025), Section 34.4.2.1,
requires deasserting the CMN_RSTB signal after setting the Link registers.
Move the reset_control_deassert() call from rzg2l_mipi_dsi_dphy_init() to
rzg2l_mipi_dsi_startup(), placing it after the Link register writes. This
reset signal is optional for RZ/V2H SoCs, so add a NULL check. Drop the
unused ret variable from rzg2l_mipi_dsi_dphy_init().
The CMN_RSTB signal is not required for reading PHY registers in the
probe. Move reset_control_assert() from rzg2l_mipi_dsi_dphy_exit() to
rzg2l_mipi_dsi_stop(), placing it before the dphy_exit() call. Since this
reset signal is optional for RZ/V2H, the call is a no-op on that SoC.

The VSP serves as an interface to memory and a compositor to the DU. It
therefore needs to be suspended after and resumed before the DU, to be
properly stopped and restarted in a controlled fashion driven by the DU
driver. This currently works by chance. Avoid relying on luck by
enforcing the correct suspend/resume ordering with device links.
Based on similar work done by Laurent Pinchart for R-Car DU.
