2015-11-18iwlwifi: move under intel vendor directoryKalle Valo
Part of reorganising wireless drivers directory and Kconfig. Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>
2015-08-18Merge tag 'mac80211-next-for-davem-2015-08-14' mac80211-next.gitKalle Valo
iwlwifi needs new mac80211 patches so merge mac80211-next.git to wireless-drivers-next.git.
2015-08-04iwlwifi: dvm: remove command/return value from RX handlersJohannes Berg
After the previous patches, the command that's passed in nor the return value are used any more, so can be removed. While at it, make some functions static. Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2015-07-17mac80211: don't store napi structJohannes Berg
When introducing multiple RX queues, a single NAPI struct will not be sufficient. Instead of trying to store multiple, simply change the API to have the NAPI struct passed to the RX function. This of course means that drivers using rx_irqsafe() cannot use NAPI, but that seems a reasonable trade-off, particularly since only two of all drivers are currently using it at all. While at it, we can now remove the IEEE80211_RX_REORDER_TIMER flag again since this code path cannot have a napi struct anyway. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2015-03-19iwlwifi: dvm: run INIT firmware again upon .start()Emmanuel Grumbach
The assumption before this patch was that we don't need to run again the INIT firmware after the system booted. The INIT firmware runs calibrations which impact the physical layer's behavior. Users reported that it may be helpful to run these calibrations again every time the interface is brought up. The penatly is minimal, since the calibrations run fast. 2014-05-06iwlwifi: make LED support optionalJohannes Berg
If there's no LED on the system, it doesn't make a lot of sense to include close to 4k of LED-related code (mostly in mac80211), so instead of forcing LED support into the kernel, don't build iwlwifi/mac80211 LED support if there's no LED class support. Happy new year! Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com>
2013-09-24iwlwifi: Remove extern from function prototypesJoe Perches
There are a mix of function prototypes with and without extern in the kernel sources. Standardize on not using extern for function prototypes. Function prototypes don't need to be written with extern. extern is assumed by the compiler. Its use is as unnecessary as using auto to declare automatic/local variables in a block. 2013-07-25iwlwifi: dvm: remove P2P supportJohannes Berg
We're not planning to support P2P on older devices, so remove the Kconfig option and associated code for it. Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2013-06-18iwlwifi: remove testmodeJohannes Berg
The old nl80211 testmode is no longer useful in iwlwifi, we're moving towards a new model internally and there's no open tool to use it, so remove it. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-06-04Merge remote-tracking branch 'wireless-next/master' into HEADJohannes Berg
Merge to get the wil6210 changes that a cfg80211 change needs. A conflict in drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/init.c was just whitespace changes. Also fix a semantic conflict due to cw1200 using WoWLAN which I had modified in my tree. Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-06-03cfg80211: take WoWLAN support information out of wiphy structJohannes Berg
There's no need to take up the space for devices that don't support WoWLAN, and most drivers can even make the support data static const (except where it's modified at runtime.) Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-05-27iwlwifi: move some configuration parameters into DVMJohannes Berg
There are a number of parameters that aren't really hardware specific but rather define how the DVM firmware is used. Move these into the DVM configuration. Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2013-05-27iwlwifi: dvm: rename iwl_lib_ops to iwl_dvm_cfgJohannes Berg
The next patches will move some more configuration data that isn't needed by mvm into this struct, so rename it now since it won't just be ops. Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2012-12-06iwlwifi: Change define and struct names in iwl-eeprom-parse.hEytan Lifshitz
Since we will have several forms of NVM (EEPROM, OTP, etc.) and they will have different layouts, make the parsed data more generic. This allows functional code to be independent of a specific layout. Also change some variables and function names from having "eeprom" to "nvm" in their name. 2012-11-26cfg80211: remove remain-on-channel channel typeJohannes Berg
As mwifiex (and mac80211 in the software case) are the only drivers actually implementing remain-on-channel with channel type, userspace can't be relying on it. This is the case, as it's used only for P2P operations right now. Rather than adding a flag to tell userspace whether or not it can actually rely on it, simplify all the code by removing the ability to use different channel types. Leave only the validation of the attribute, so that if we extend it again later (with the needed capability flag), it can't break userspace sending invalid data. 2012-09-05iwlwifi: report A-MPDU statusJohannes Berg
Since the firmware will give us an A-MPDU bit and only a single PHY information packet for all the subframes in an A-MPDU, we can easily report the minimal A-MPDU information for radiotap. 2012-06-25iwlwifi: configure the queues from the op_modeEmmanuel Grumbach
Since the op_mode defines the queue mapping, let it do it completely through the API functions. Signed-off-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2012-06-20iwlwifi: remove sku field from hw_paramsJohannes Berg
Now that the eeprom parsing code overrides the sku field directly with 11n_disable parameters, there's no longer a need to keep a copy of this field. Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2012-06-11iwlwifi: refactor testmodeIlan Peer
Create an object that will enacpsulate the testmode functionality that is common to all op modes. * Copy definitions from dvm/dev.h * Copy the testmode logic from dvm/testmode.c * Link iwl-test object into the iwlwifi module * Modify DVM to use iwl-test object Reviewed-by: Amit Beka <amit.beka@intel.com> Reviewed-by: Emmanuel Grumbach <emmanuel.grumbach@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ilan Peer <ilan.peer@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>
2012-06-06iwlwifi: refactor EEPROM reading/parsingJohannes Berg
The EEPROM reading/parsing code is all mixed in the driver today, and the EEPROM is parsed only when we access data from it. This is problematic because the NVM needs to be parsed and that is independent of reading it. Also, the NVM format for new devices will be different and probably require a new parser. Therefore refactor the reading and parsing and create two independent components. Reading the EEPROM requires direct hardware accesses and therefore access to the transport, but parsing is independent and can be done on an NVM blob. 2012-06-06iwlwifi: allocate Tx cmd pool per deviceEmmanuel Grumbach
Different transports will have different needs: New tranports need headroom for their own use before the Tx cmd. So allocate the Tx cmd pool in the transport and give it a unique name based on dev_name. 2012-06-06iwlwifi: move DVM code into subdirectoryJohannes Berg
