2023-08-02powerpc: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. 2023-03-16powerpc: Make generic_calibrate_decr() the defaultChristophe Leroy
ppc_md.calibrate_decr() is a mandatory item. Its nullity is never checked so it must be non null on all platforms. Most platforms define generic_calibrate_decr() as their ppc_md.calibrate_decr(). Have time_init() call generic_calibrate_decr() when ppc_md.calibrate_decr() is NULL, and remove default assignment from all machines. 2019-12-09soc: fsl: qe: move calls of qe_ic_init out of arch/powerpc/Rasmus Villemoes
Having to call qe_ic_init() from platform-specific code makes it awkward to allow building the QE drivers for ARM. It's also a needless duplication of code, and slightly error-prone: Instead of the caller needing to know the details of whether the QUICC Engine High and QUICC Engine Low are actually the same interrupt (see e.g. the machine_is() in mpc85xx_mds_qeic_init), just let the init function choose the appropriate handlers after it has parsed the DT and figured it out. If the two interrupts are distinct, use separate handlers, otherwise use the handler which first checks the CHIVEC register (for the high priority interrupts), then the CIVEC. All existing callers pass 0 for flags, so continue to do that from the new single caller. Later cleanups will remove that argument from qe_ic_init and simplify the body, as well as make qe_ic_init into a proper init function for an IRQCHIP_DECLARE, eliminating the need to manually look up the fsl,qe-ic node. 2019-11-21powerpc/sysdev: drop simple gpioChristophe Leroy
There is a config item CONFIG_SIMPLE_GPIO which provides simple memory mapped GPIOs specific to powerpc. However, the only platform which selects this option is mpc5200, and this platform doesn't use it. There are three boards calling simple_gpiochip_init(), but as they don't select CONFIG_SIMPLE_GPIO, this is just a nop. Simple_gpio is just redundant with the generic MMIO GPIO driver which can be found in driver/gpio/ and selected via CONFIG_GPIO_GENERIC_PLATFORM, so drop simple_gpio driver. 2016-07-21powerpc: Move 32-bit probe() machine to later in the boot processBenjamin Herrenschmidt
This converts all the 32-bit platforms to use the expanded device-tree which is a pretty mechanical change. Unlike 64-bit, the 32-bit kernel didn't rely on platform initializations to setup the MMU since it sets it up entirely before probe_machine() so the move has comparatively less consequences though it's a bigger patch. 2014-03-19fsl/pci: The new pci suspend/resume implementationWang Dongsheng
If we do nothing in suspend/resume, some platform PCIe ip-block can't guarantee the link back to L0 state from sleep, then, when we read the EP device will hang. Only we send pme turnoff message in pci controller suspend, and send pme exit message in resume, the link state will be normal. When we send pme turnoff message in pci controller suspend, the links will into l2/l3 ready, then, host cannot communicate with ep device, but pci-driver will call back EP device to save them state. So we need to change platform_driver->suspend/resume to syscore->suspend/resume. So the new suspend/resume implementation, send pme turnoff message in suspend, and send pme exit message in resume. And add a PME handler, to response PME & message interrupt. Change platform_driver->suspend/resume to syscore->suspend/resume. pci-driver will call back EP device, to save EP state in pci_pm_suspend_noirq, so we need to keep the link, until pci_pm_suspend_noirq finish. 2012-09-12powerpc/fsl-pci: Unify pci/pcie initialization codeJia Hongtao
We unified the Freescale pci/pcie initialization by changing the fsl_pci to a platform driver. In previous PCI code architecture the initialization routine is called at board_setup_arch stage. Now the initialization is done in probe function which is architectural better. Also It's convenient for adding PM support for PCI controller in later patch. 2012-04-19powerpc/85xx: don't call of_platform_bus_probe() twiceTimur Tabi
Commit 46d026ac ("powerpc/85xx: consolidate of_platform_bus_probe calls") replaced platform-specific of_device_id tables with a single function that probes the most of the busses in 85xx device trees. If a specific platform needed additional busses probed, then it could call of_platform_bus_probe() again. Typically, the additional platform-specific busses are children of existing busses that have already been probed. of_platform_bus_probe() does not handle those child busses automatically. Unfortunately, this doesn't actually work. The second (platform-specific) call to of_platform_bus_probe() never finds any of the busses it's asked to find. To remedy this, the platform-specific of_device_id tables are eliminated, and their entries are merged into mpc85xx_common_ids[], so that all busses are probed at once. 2012-03-29powerpc/8xxx: remove 85xx/86xx restrictions from fsl_guts.hTimur Tabi
Remove the check for CONFIG_PPC_85xx and CONFIG_PPC_86xx from fsl_guts.h. The check was originally intended to allow the same header file to be used on 85xx and 86xx systems, even though the Global Utilities register could be different. It turns out that they're not actually different, and so the check is not necessary. In addition, neither macro is defined for 64-bit e5500 kernels, so that causes a build break. 2012-02-23powerpc/mpic: Remove duplicate MPIC_WANTS_RESET flagKyle Moffett
There are two separate flags controlling whether or not the MPIC is reset during initialization, which is completely unnecessary, and only one of them can be specified in the device tree. Also, most platforms in-tree right now do actually want to reset the MPIC during initialization anyways, which means lots of duplicate code passing the MPIC_WANTS_RESET flag. Fix all of the callers which currently do not pass the MPIC_WANTS_RESET flag to pass the MPIC_NO_RESET flag, then remove the MPIC_WANTS_RESET flag and make the code reset the MPIC by default. 2012-02-23powerpc/mpic: Remove MPIC_BROKEN_FRR_NIRQS and duplicate irq_countKyle Moffett
The mpic->irq_count variable is only used as a software error-checking limit to determine whether or not an IRQ number is valid. In board code which does not manually specify an IRQ count to mpic_alloc(), i.e. 0, it is automatically detected from the number of ISUs and the ISU size. In practice, all hardware ends up with irq_count == num_sources, so all of the runtime checks on mpic->irq_count should just check the value of mpic->num_sources instead. When platform hardware does not correctly report the number of IRQs, which only happens on the MPC85xx/MPC86xx, the MPIC_BROKEN_FRR_NIRQS flag is used to override the detected value of num_sources with the manual irq_count parameter. Since there's no need to manually specify the number of IRQs except in this case, the extra flag can be eliminated and the test changed to "irq_count != 0". 2011-12-07powerpc/mpic: Search for open-pic device-tree node if NULLKyle Moffett
