2014-11-12irda: Convert IRDA_DEBUG to pr_debugJoe Perches
Use the normal kernel debugging mechanism which also enables dynamic_debug at the same time. Other miscellanea: o Remove sysctl for irda_debug o Remove function tracing like uses (use ftrace instead) o Coalesce formats o Realign arguments o Remove unnecessary OOM messages Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-11-11irda: Remove IRDA_<TYPE> logging macrosJoe Perches
And use the more common mechanisms directly. Other miscellanea: o Coalesce formats o Add missing newlines o Realign arguments o Remove unnecessary OOM message logging as there's a generic stack dump already on OOM. 2013-12-06net/irda: Fix FSF address in file headersJeff Kirsher
Several files refer to an old address for the Free Software Foundation in the file header comment. Resolve by replacing the address with the URL <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/> so that we do not have to keep updating the header comments anytime the address changes. 2012-07-16tty: move the termios object into the ttyAlan Cox
This will let us sort out a whole pile of tty related races. The alternative would be to keep points and refcount the termios objects. However 1. They are tiny anyway 2. Many devices don't use the stored copies 3. We can remove a pty special case Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-06-12TTY: ircomm, use tty from tty_portJiri Slaby
This also includes a switch to tty refcounting. It makes sure, the code no longer can access a freed TTY struct. Sometimes the only thing needed is to pass tty down to the callies. 2012-06-12TTY: ircomm, use flags from tty_portJiri Slaby
Switch to tty_port->flags. And while at it, remove redefined flags for them. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Cc: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Cc: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-06-12TTY: ircomm, use close times from tty_portJiri Slaby
Switch to tty_port->close_delay and closing_wait. Signed-off-by: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz> Cc: Samuel Ortiz <samuel@sortiz.org> Cc: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>
2012-04-15net: cleanup unsigned to unsigned intEric Dumazet
Use of "unsigned int" is preferred to bare "unsigned" in net tree. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-02-17tty: now phase out the ioctl file pointer for goodAlan Cox
Only oddities here are a couple of drivers that bogusly called the ldisc helpers instead of returning -ENOIOCTLCMD. Fix the bug and the rest goes away. Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-02-17tiocmset: kill the file pointer argumentAlan Cox
Doing tiocmget was such fun we should do tiocmset as well for the same reasons Signed-off-by: Alan Cox <alan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2011-02-17tiocmget: kill off the passing of the struct fileAlan Cox
We don't actually need this and it causes problems for internal use of this functionality. Currently there is a single use of the FILE * pointer. That is the serial core which uses it to check tty_hung_up_p. However if that is true then IO_ERROR is also already set so the check may be removed. 2008-03-05net: replace remaining __FUNCTION__ occurrencesHarvey Harrison
__FUNCTION__ is gcc-specific, use __func__ Signed-off-by: Harvey Harrison <harvey.harrison@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-02-14[PATCH] remove many unneeded #includes of sched.hTim Schmielau
After Al Viro (finally) succeeded in removing the sched.h #include in module.h recently, it makes sense again to remove other superfluous sched.h includes. There are quite a lot of files which include it but don't actually need anything defined in there. Presumably these includes were once needed for macros that used to live in sched.h, but moved to other header files in the course of cleaning it up. To ease the pain, this time I did not fiddle with any header files and only removed #includes from .c-files, which tend to cause less trouble. Compile tested against 2.6.20-rc2 and 2.6.20-rc2-mm2 (with offsets) on alpha, arm, i386, ia64, mips, powerpc, and x86_64 with allnoconfig, defconfig, allmodconfig, and allyesconfig as well as a few randconfigs on x86_64 and all configs in arch/arm/configs on arm. I also checked that no new warnings were introduced by the patch (actually, some warnings are removed that were emitted by unnecessarily included header files). 2006-12-08[PATCH] tty: switch to ktermios and new frameworkAlan Cox
This is the core of the switch to the new framework. I've split it from the driver patches which are mostly search/replace and would encourage people to give this one a good hard stare. The references to BOTHER and ISHIFT are the termios values that must be defined by a platform once it wants to turn on "new style" ioctl support. The code patches here ensure that providing 1. The termios overlays the ktermios in memory 2. The only new kernel only fields are c_ispeed/c_ospeed (or none) the existing behaviour is retained. This is true for the patches at this point in time. Future patches will define BOTHER, ISHIFT and enable newer termios structures for each architecture, and once they are all done some of the ifdefs also vanish. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
