This adds a new optional field to struct iio_info to allow drivers to
specify a label for the event. This is useful for cases where there are
many events or the event attribute name is not descriptive enough or
where an event doesn't have any other attributes.
The implementation is based on the existing label support for channels.
So either all events of a device have a label attribute or none do.

The available_scan_mask is an array of bitmaps representing the channels
which can be simultaneously enabled by the driver. In many cases, the
hardware can offer more channels than what the user is interested in
obtaining. In such cases, it may be preferred that only a subset of
channels are enabled, and the driver reads only a subset of the channels
from the hardware.
Some devices can't support all channel combinations. For example, the
BM1390 pressure sensor must always read the pressure data in order to
acknowledge the watermark IRQ, while reading temperature can be omitted.
So, the available scan masks would be 'pressure and temperature' and
'pressure only'.
When IIO searches for the scan mask it asks the driver to use, it will
pick the first suitable one from the 'available_scan_mask' array. Hence,
ordering the masks in the array makes a difference. We should 'prefer'
reading just the pressure from the hardware (as it is a cheaper operation
than reading both pressure and temperature) over reading both pressure
and temperature. Hence, we should set the 'only pressure' as the first
scan mask in available_scan_mask array. If we set the 'pressure and
temperature' as first in the array, then the 'only temperature' will never
get used as 'pressure and temperature' can always serve the user's
needs.
Add (minimal) kerneldoc to the 'available_scan_mask' to hint the user
that the ordering of masks matters.

As mentioned and discussed in [1] extend_name should not be used for
full channel labels (and most drivers seem to only use it to express a
short type of a channel) as this affects sysfs filenames, while the
label name is supposed to be extracted from the *_label sysfs file
instead. This appears to have been unclear to some drivers as
extend_name is also used when read_label is unset, achieving an initial
goal of providing sensible names in *_label sysfs files without noticing
that sysfs filenames are (negatively and likely unintentionally)
affected as well.
Point readers of iio_chan_spec::extend_name to iio_info::read_label by
mentioning deprecation and side-effects of this field.

These APIs are analogous to iio_device_claim_direct_mode() and
iio_device_release_direct_mode() but, as the name suggests, with the
logic flipped. While this looks odd enough, it will have at least two
users (in following changes) and it will be important to move the IIO
mlock to the private struct.

This moves the IIO in kernel interface to use fwnode properties and thus
be firmware agnostic.
Note that the interface is still not firmware agnostic. At this point we
have both OF and fwnode interfaces so that we don't break any user. On
top of this we also want to have a per driver conversion and that is the
main reason we have both of_xlate() and fwnode_xlate() support.

To provide a new IIO trigger to the IIO core, usually driver executes the
following pipeline: allocate()/register()/get(). Before, IIO core assigned
trig->owner as a pointer to the module which registered this trigger at
the register() stage. But actually the trigger object is owned by the
module earlier, on the allocate() stage, when trigger object is
successfully allocated for the driver.
This patch moves trig->owner initialization from register()
stage of trigger initialization pipeline to allocate() stage to
eliminate all misunderstandings and time gaps between trigger object
creation and owner acquiring.

mm, arm64: Reduce ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN brought to my attention that
our current IIO usage of L1CACHE_ALIGN is insufficient as their are Arm
platforms out their with non coherent DMA and larger cache lines at
at higher levels of their cache hierarchy.
Rename the define to make it's purpose more explicit. It will be used
much more widely going forwards (to replace incorrect ____cacheline_aligned
markings.
Note this patch will greatly reduce the padding on some architectures
that have smaller requirements for DMA safe buffers.
The history of changing values of ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN via
ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN on arm64 is rather complex. I'm not tagging this
as fixing a particular patch from that route as it's not clear what to tag.
Most recently a change to bring them back inline was reverted because
of some Qualcomm Kryo cores with an L2 cache with 128-byte lines
sitting above the point of coherency.

As part of a previous discussion with Jonathan Cameron [1], it appeared
necessary to clarify the meaning of each mode so that new developers
could understand better what they should use or not use and when.
The idea of renaming these modes as been let aside because naming is a
big deal and requires a lot of thinking. So for now let's focus on
correctly explaining what each mode implies.

This entry should, under no situation, be modified by device
drivers. Now that we have limited its read access to device drivers
really needing it and did so through a dedicated helper, we can
easily move this variable to the opaque structure in order to
prevent any further modification from non-authorized code (out of the
core, basically).

In order to later move this variable within the opaque structure, let's
create a helper for accessing it in read-only mode. This helper will be
exposed to device drivers and kept accessible for the few that could need
it. The write access to this variable however should be fully reserved to
the core so in a second step we will hide this variable into the opaque
structure.

As we are going to hide the currentmode inside the opaque structure,
this helper would soon need to call a non-inline function which would
simply drop the benefit of having the helper defined inline in a header.
One alternative is to move this helper in the core as there is no more
interest in defining it inline in a header. We will pay the minor cost
either way.
Let's do like the iio_device_id() helper which also refers to the opaque
structure and gets defined in the core.

The shared parameter should be configurable based on its usage, and not
constrained to IIO_SHARED_BY_TYPE.
This patch aims to improve the flexibility in using the
IIO_ENUM_AVAILABLE define and avoid redefining custom iio enums that
expose the shared parameter.
An example is the ad5766.c driver where IIO_ENUM_AVAILABLE_SHARED was
defined in order to achieve `shared` parameter customization.
The current state of the IIO_ENUM_AVAILABLE implementation will imply
similar redefinitions each time a driver will require access to the
`shared` parameter. An example would be admv1013 driver which will
require custom device attribute for the frequency translation modes:
Quadrature I/Q mode and Intermediate Frequency mode.

property name. Moreover, the property name is hard coded in the API
documentation.

When allocated with [devm_]iio_trigger_alloc(), set trig device parent to
the device the trigger is allocated for by default.
It can always be reassigned in the probe routine.
Change iio_trigger_alloc() API to add the device pointer to be coherent
with devm_iio_trigger_alloc, using similar interface to
iio_device_alloc().

Up until now, the device groups that an IIO device had were limited to 6.
Two of these groups would account for buffer attributes (the buffer/ and
scan_elements/ directories).
Since we want to add multiple buffers per IIO device, this number may not
be enough, when adding a second buffer. So, this change reallocates the
groups array whenever an IIO device group is added, via a
iio_device_register_sysfs_group() helper.
This also means that the groups array should be assigned to
'indio_dev.dev.groups' really late, right before {cdev_}device_add() is
called to do the entire setup.
And we also must take care to free this array when the sysfs resources are
being cleaned up.
With this change we can also move the 'groups' & 'groupcounter' fields to
the iio_dev_opaque object. Up until now, this didn't make a whole lot of
sense (especially since we weren't sure how multibuffer support would look
like in the end).
But doing it now kills one birds with one stone.
An alternative, would be to add a configurable Kconfig symbol
CONFIG_IIO_MAX_BUFFERS_PER_DEVICE (or something like that) and compute a
static maximum of the groups we can support per IIO device. But that would
probably annoy a few people since that would make the system less
configurable.

If a label is defined in the device tree for this channel add that
to the channel specific attributes. This is useful for userspace to
be able to identify an individual channel.

There's a warning at iio.h kernel-doc markup:
./include/linux/iio/iio.h:644: WARNING: Unknown target name: "devm".
Because it is using {devm_}foo notation. Well, this is not
a valid kernel-doc notation. Also, it prevents creating hyperlinks
to other documentation functions.
So, replace it to a better notation.

This change moves all iio_dev debugfs fields to the iio_dev_priv object.
It's not the biggest advantage yet (to the whole thing of abstractization)
but it's a start.
The iio_get_debugfs_dentry() function (which is moved in
industrialio-core.c) needs to also be guarded against the CONFIG_DEBUG_FS
symbol, when it isn't defined. We do want to keep the inline definition in
the iio.h header, so that the compiler can better infer when to compile out
debugfs code that is related to the IIO debugfs directory.

There are plenty of bad designs we want to discourage or not have to review
manually usually about accessing private (marked as [INTERN]) fields of
'struct iio_dev'.
Sometimes users copy drivers that are not always the best examples.
A better idea is to hide those fields into the framework.
For 'struct iio_dev' this is a 'struct iio_dev_opaque' which wraps a public
'struct iio_dev' object.
In the next series, some fields will be moved to this new struct, each with
it's own rework.
This rework will not be complete-able for a while, as many fields need some
drivers to be reworked in order to finalize them (e.g. 'indio_dev->mlock').
But some fields can already be moved, and in time, all of them may get
there (in the 'struct iio_dev_opaque' object).
Since a lot of drivers also call 'iio_priv()', in order to preserve
fast-paths (where this matters), the public iio_dev object will have a
'priv' field that will have the pointer to the private information already
computed. The reference returned by this field should be guaranteed to be
cacheline aligned.
The opaque parts will be moved into the 'include/linux/iio/iio-opaque.h'
header. Should the hidden information be required for some debugging or
some special needs, it can be made available via this header.
Otherwise, only the IIO core files should include this file.

By default, the device allocation will also assign a parent device to the
IIO device object. In cases where devm_iio_device_alloc() is used,
sometimes the parent device must be different than the device used to
manage the allocation.
In that case, this helper should be used to change the parent, hence the
requirement to call this between allocation & registration.
This pattern/requirement is not very common in the IIO space, and it may be
cleaned up later.
But until then, assigning the parent manually between allocation &
registration is slightly easier.

The change passes the parent device to the iio_device_alloc() call. This
also updates the devm_iio_device_alloc() call to consider the device object
as the parent device by default.
Having it passed like this, should ensure that any IIO device object
already has a device object as parent, allowing for neater control, like
passing the 'indio_dev' object for other stuff [like buffers/triggers/etc],
and potentially creating iiom_xxx(indio_dev) functions.
With this patch, only the 'drivers/platform/x86/toshiba_acpi.c' needs an
update to pass the parent object as a parameter.
In the next patch all devm_iio_device_alloc() calls will be handled.
