strncpy() is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings
[1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string
interfaces.
Considering the above, a suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to
the fact that it guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer
without unnecessarily NUL-padding.
Other implementations of .*get_drvinfo also use strscpy so this patch
brings keystone_get_drvinfo() in line as well:

It is preferred to use typed property access functions (i.e.

of_get_property/of_find_property functions for reading properties.

Since commit 94dd016ae538 ("bond: pass get_ts_info and SIOC[SG]HWTSTAMP
ioctl to active device") the user could get bond active interface's
PHC index directly. But when there is a failover, the bond active
interface will change, thus the PHC index is also changed. This may
break the user's program if they did not update the PHC timely.
This patch adds a new hwtstamp_config flag HWTSTAMP_FLAG_BONDED_PHC_INDEX.
When the user wants to get the bond active interface's PHC, they need to
add this flag and be aware the PHC index may be changed.
With the new flag. All flag checks in current drivers are removed. Only
the checking in net_hwtstamp_validate() is kept.

cpsw_ale_create() can return both NULL and PTR_ERR(), but all of
the caller only check NULL for error handling. This patch convert
it to only return PTR_ERR() in all error cases, and the caller using

Before this change of_get_phy_mode() returned an enum,
phy_interface_t. On error, -ENODEV etc, is returned. If the result of
the function is stored in a variable of type phy_interface_t, and the
compiler has decided to represent this as an unsigned int, comparision
with -ENODEV etc, is a signed vs unsigned comparision.
Fix this problem by changing the API. Make the function return an
error, or 0 on success, and pass a pointer, of type phy_interface_t,
where the phy mode should be stored.

Convert string compares of DT node names to use of_node_name_eq helper
instead. This removes direct access to the node name pointer.
For instances using of_node_cmp, this has the side effect of now using
case sensitive comparisons. This should not matter for any FDT based
system which all of these are.

Each slave has it's own receive timestamp filter. But cpts rx/tx
timestamp enable flags are used to allow ts retrieve only for one
user. This limitation causes data path redundancy and setting overlap
if cpsw module is in dual-mac mode for instance.
If rx ts is enabled only for one port - the second interface must expect
every incoming packet to be PTP packet w/o absolutely any reason, and if
it's PTP - do unneeded stuff, as rx filter for second port is not set
and cpts fifo is not supposed to contain appropriate ts event.
That's not correct.
So, to fix control overlap and avoid redundant CPU cycles, the patch
splits rx/tx ts enable flags between network devices. After the patch,
PTP timestamping still should be used for only one port (or PTP id
counter has to be different for both ports as cpts IP is common).

The devm_kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, devm_kcalloc().
This patch replaces cases of:
devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)
with:
devm_kcalloc(handle, a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
devm_kzalloc(handle, a * b * c, gfp)
with:
devm_kzalloc(handle, array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
devm_kcalloc(handle, array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
devm_kzalloc(handle, 4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
Some manual whitespace fixes were needed in this patch, as Coccinelle
really liked to write "=devm_kcalloc..." instead of "= devm_kcalloc...".
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

This patch adds support for promiscuous mode in k2g's network
driver. When upper layer instructs to transition from
non-promiscuous mode to promiscuous mode or vice versa
K2G network driver needs to configure ALE accordingly
so that in case of non-promiscuous mode, ALE will not flood
all unicast packets to host port, while in promiscuous
mode, it will pass all received unicast packets to
host port.

This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using
timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already
holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes,
since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with
the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following
examples, in addition to some other variations.
Casting from unsigned long:
void my_callback(unsigned long data)
{
struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
...
}
...
setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr);
and forced object casts:
void my_callback(struct something *ptr)
{
...
}
...
setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr);
become:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
{
struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
...
}
...
timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
Direct function assignments:
void my_callback(unsigned long data)
{
struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
...
}
...
ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback;
have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
{
struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
...
}
...
ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback;
And finally, callbacks without a data assignment:
void my_callback(unsigned long data)
{
...
}
...
setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion:
void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused)
{
...
}
...
timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);
The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script:
spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \
-I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \
-I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \

Calling phy_read_status() means that we may call into

ALE h/w on newer version of NetCP (K2E/L/G) does provide a ALE_STATUS
register for the size of the ALE Table implemented in h/w. Currently
for example we set ALE Table size to 1024 for NetCP ALE on
K2E even though the ALE Status/Documentation shows it has 8192 entries.
So take advantage of this register to read the size of ALE table supported
and use that value in the driver for the newer version of NetCP ALE.
For NetCP lite, ALE Table size is much less (64) and indicated by a size
of zero in ALE_STATUS. So use that as a default for now. While at it,
also fix the ale table size on 10G switch to 2048 per User guide

In NU Ethernet switch used on some of the Keystone SoCs, there is
separate UNKNOWNVLAN register for membership, unreg mcast flood, reg
mcast flood and force untag egress bits in ALE. So control for these
fields require different address offset, shift and size of field.
As this ALE has the same version number as ALE in CPSW found on other
SoCs, customization based on version number is not possible. So
use a configuration parameter, nu_switch_ale, to identify the ALE
ALE found in NU Switch. Different treatment is needed for NU Switch
ALE due to difference in the ale table bits, separate unknown vlan
registers etc. The register information available in ale_controls,
needs to be updated to support the netcp NU switch h/w. So it is not
constant array any more since it needs to be updated based
on ALE type. The header of the file is also updated to indicate it
supports N port switch ALE, not just 3 port. The version mask is
3 bits in NU Switch ALE vs 8 bits on other ALE types.
While at it, change the debug print to info print so that ALE
version gets displayed in boot log.

On K2HK, sgmii module registers of slave 0 and 1 are mem
mapped to one contiguous block, while those of slave 2
and 3 are mapped to another contiguous block. However,
on K2E and K2L, sgmii module registers of all slaves are
mem mapped to one contiguous block. SGMII APIs expect
slave 0 sgmii base when API is invoked for slave 0 and 1,
and slave 2 sgmii base when invoked for other slaves.
Before this patch, slave 0 sgmii base is always passed to
sgmii API for K2E regardless which slave is the API invoked
for. This patch fixes the problem.

also unnecessary.
