2017-02-14MIPS: Audit and remove any unnecessary uses of module.hPaul Gortmaker
Historically a lot of these existed because we did not have a distinction between what was modular code and what was providing support to modules via EXPORT_SYMBOL and friends. That changed when we forked out support for the latter into the export.h file. This means we should be able to reduce the usage of module.h in code that is obj-y Makefile or bool Kconfig. In the case of some code where it is modular, we can extend that to also include files that are building basic support functionality but not related to loading or registering the final module; such files also have no need whatsoever for module.h The advantage in removing such instances is that module.h itself sources about 15 other headers; adding significantly to what we feed cpp, and it can obscure what headers we are effectively using. Since module.h might have been the implicit source for init.h (for __init) and for export.h (for EXPORT_SYMBOL) we consider each instance for the presence of either and replace/add as needed. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. Build coverage of all the mips defconfigs revealed the module.h header was masking a couple of implicit include instances, so we add the appropriate headers there. 2015-07-14MIPS: SB1: Remove support for Pass 1 parts.Ralf Baechle
Pass 1 parts had a number of significant erratas and were only available in small numbers and under NDA. Full support also required the use of a special toolchain that kept branches properly aligned. These workarounds were never upstreamed and the only toolchain known to have them is Montavista's GCC 3.0-based toolchain which completly obsoleted if not useless these days. So now that automated testing has tripped over the user of the -msb1-pass1-workarounds option, rather than fixing it remove support for pass 1 parts. Probably nobody will notice. I seem to own the last know pass 1 board and I haven't noticed another one in the wild in the past decade, at least. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
2013-09-18MIPS: Cleanup CP0 PRId and CP1 FPIR register access masksMaciej W. Rozycki
Replace hardcoded CP0 PRId and CP1 FPIR register access masks throughout. The change does not touch places that use shifted or partial masks. Signed-off-by: Maciej W. 2010-04-12MIPS: Sibyte: Apply M3 workaround only on affected chip types and versions.Ralf Baechle
Previously it was unconditionally used on all Sibyte family SOCs. The M3 bug has to be handled in the TLB exception handler which is extremly performance sensitive, so this modification is expected to deliver around 2-3% performance improvment. This is important as required changes to the M3 workaround will make it more costly. Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

2007-07-17sb1250-duart.c: SB1250 DUART serial supportMaciej W. Rozycki
This is a driver for the SB1250 DUART, a dual serial port implementation included in the Broadcom family of SOCs descending from the SiByte SB1250 MIPS64 chip multiprocessor. It is a new implementation replacing the old-fashioned driver currently present in the linux-mips.org tree. It supports all the usual features one would expect from a(n asynchronous) serial driver, including modem line control (as far as hardware supports it -- there is edge detection logic missing from the DCD and RI lines and the driver does not implement polling of these lines at the moment), the serial console, BREAK transmission and reception, including the magic SysRq. The receive FIFO threshold is not maintained though. The driver was tested with a SWARM board which uses a BCM1250 SOC (which is dual MIPS64 CMP) and has both ports of the single DUART implemented wired externally. Both were tested. Testing included using the ports as terminal lines at 1200bps (which is the ports minimum), 115200bps and a couple of random speeds inbetween. The modem lines were verified to operate correctly. No testing was performed with a use as a network interface, like with SLIP or PPP. Signed-off-by: Maciej W. 2007-04-20[MIPS] Add missing silicon revisions for BCM112xMark Mason

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
