If a packet with bad checksum metadata gets into the ipv4 stack,
skb_checksum_help can corrupt the network header and cause a bunch of
mischief.
This was discovered and reported by Paulos, and has been reporoduced
by others independently since.
We really shouldn't allow such packets in, but as a defence
in depth measure, let's also check before we complete the checksum.
A more complete validation at input is forthcoming, but needs more work.

Commit 730ff06d3f5c ("net: mana: Use page pool fragments for RX buffers
instead of full pages to improve memory efficiency.") started handing
out RX buffers with zero headroom so that two buffers fit into one page
at the default MTU.
The MANA TX path, however, stores the per scatter-gather entry DMA
mappings in `struct mana_skb_head` at skb->head, and mana_start_xmit()
therefore calls skb_cow_head(skb, MANA_HEADROOM). The port advertises
this requirement as ndev->needed_headroom = MANA_HEADROOM.
As a result every packet that is received and then forwarded out of a
MANA port fails the skb_cow() in ip_forward() and gets reallocated and
copied by pskb_expand_head(). This is invisible to a plain RX or TX
workload, but it puts a full skb reallocation plus memcpy on the hot
path of every single forwarded packet, which is exactly what a
router/NVA workload does.
Restore the headroom. Note that reserving MANA_HEADROOM (232) is not
enough: ip_forward() asks for LL_RESERVED_SPACE(dev), which rounds
hard_header_len + needed_headroom up to HH_DATA_MOD and is 256 bytes on
ethernet. Use LL_RESERVED_SPACE() directly so the value keeps tracking
both constants. Also, since LL_RESERVED_SPACE() tracks MANA_HEADROOM,
it grows with MAX_SKB_FRAGS and for MAX_SKB_FRAGS >= 19 it is greater
than 256, so we have to account for that by using the headroom the RX
queue actually uses (instead of assuming XDP_PACKET_HEADROOM) and
turning MANA_XDP_MTU_MAX into MANA_XDP_MTU_MAX(ndev) (note that at the
default CONFIG_MAX_SKB_FRAGS=17 they are equivalent).
At the default MTU on a 4K page this means a buffer no longer fits twice
into a page (SKB_DATA_ALIGN(1500 + MANA_RXBUF_PAD + 256) = 2112), so the
frag-vs-single decision is now made by computing the real buffer size
instead of comparing the MTU against PAGE_SIZE / 2. The page_pool
fragment path is still used wherever at least two buffers genuinely fit,
e.g. on 16K and 64K page sizes.
Measured on an Azure VM with a MANA NIC acting as a forwarding NVA (UDP,
1400 byte payload, 4 streams, 8 Gbps offered, only the forwarding
node's kernel differs), 8 runs each, median:
forwarded pps throughput
before 272,830 3.06 Gbps
after 390,560 4.37 Gbps (+43%)
perf on the forwarding node, same workload:
memset_orig __pi_memcpy pskb_expand_head
before 10.07% 3.96% present
after 0.94% 0.64% gone

The comment above strp_done() claims that if strp is stopped,
strp_recv will no longer be called. That's only true if the caller has
a mechanism (eg locking) to guarantee that strp_recv() calls that
started before strp_stop() have completed by the time we call
strp_done().
This adds a dummy lock_sock/release_sock pair to guarantee that any
in-flight strp_recv() (which runs under either bh_lock_sock or
lock_sock, depending if it's called from ->sk_data_ready or strp_work)
has completed.
Only espintcp can be affected by this race condition, but this patch
makes sure no future user of strp can have the bug.
This could crash on strp->sk ("general mode" of strp), but this mode
has been here for 9 years and has never been used. It'll be gone soon,
no point worrying about it.
Switch the stopped/paused/etc bits to u8's to avoid races between
strp_stop() and strp_pause/unpause().
A reproducer has been published and turns the possible UAF into an
exploit [1].

An skb queued in a qdisc can outlive the tunnel it references
through a raw pointer in skb->cb. For example, with igmp_qrv set
to 1 on the relay a tunnel lives for 135s, so a netem delay of
180s on the amt device outlives it; when the tunnel expires and is
freed, the subsequent dequeue triggers a use-after-free in
amt_dev_xmit().
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in amt_dev_xmit+0x2763/0x2e20
Call Trace:

netem_dequeue+0x333/0xc50
net_tx_action+0x35c/0xa60
amt_send_igmp_gq() and amt_send_mld_gq() are only called from
amt_request_handler(), inside the rcu_read_lock_bh() section of
amt_rcv(). amt_request_handler() already has the tunnel the query is
for: it found or created it inside that section. Queuing the query with
dev_queue_xmit() only leads back into amt_dev_xmit(), which strips the
Ethernet header and calls amt_send_membership_query() for that tunnel.
Make that call directly from the two senders instead, the same way
amt_send_advertisement() transmits from the receive path. The query
never waits in a qdisc, the tunnel is only dereferenced inside the
RCU section that found or created it, and nothing is stored in
skb->cb, so no lookup or refcount is needed. Remove the query branch
of amt_dev_xmit(), amt_skb_cb() and struct amt_skb_cb, which have no
users left.
Behaviour changes:
- The relay's own General Queries no longer pass through the amt
device's egress path: its qdisc, tc egress (clsact/tcx), the
netfilter egress hook and packet taps. They are still visible as
UDP on the underlay.
- A query that is sent successfully is no longer counted as
tx_dropped. The old query branch left through the unlock label,
which counted every sent query as dropped.
- A query that reaches amt_dev_xmit() on a relay from elsewhere,
such as a userspace querier, is now dropped at the IGMP/MLD type
switch. Before, it trusted whatever skb->cb held, and a NULL
tunnel hit the WARN_ON(1).

Commit d4fb6514ff8e ("can: use skb hash instead of private variable in
headroom") moved the per-skb unique identifier used for raw_rcv()
duplicate detection into skb->hash.
With RPS enabled, get_rps_cpu() calls skb_get_hash() before the frame
reaches the CAN subsystem. Since CAN skbs have no L3/L4 headers, the
flow dissector assigns every CAN frame the same non-zero software
hash. can_set_skb_uid() only generated a new identifier when
skb->hash was 0, so it kept this constant hash. When the SLAB
allocator later reused the same skb address, raw_rcv() mistook the
next legitimate frame for a duplicate and dropped it.
Fix this by storing the CAN UID in the CAN skb extension
(struct can_skb_ext::can_skb_uid) instead of skb->hash, decoupling it
from any hash the network stack may compute. can_set_skb_uid() keeps
its "assign only if unset" behaviour, which preserves UIDs set before
transmission (e.g. by isotp to identify echo frames) across the local
loopback path.
Frames whose extension is shared with another clone (e.g. via tc mirred
or netem duplicate) are given a private extension copy before the UID
is assigned, so that independently received skb clones from real CAN
interfaces (can_skb_uid = 0) don't end up with the same UID.
The limitation that tc mirred/netem skb duplicates might be dropped in
raw_rcv for looped back isotp echo frame skbs is accepted. There is no
valid use-case for tc mirred or netem together with isotp which is not
capable to operate on different CAN interfaces simultaneously.
For routing and modifying CAN frames together with isotp use can-gw.
can-gw and vxcan additionally clear the UID of forwarded/duplicated
frames so each newly routed frame gets its own unique identifier.

Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net
The following batch contains Netfilter fixes for net. This batch
fixes crashes as recent feature regression, one of the due to a
dependency that has been pulled into -stable:
1) Expand existing ipset fix for bitmap sets to disallow comments
updates from kernel-side adds, from Florian Westphal.
2) Drop flowtable reference if nf_ct_netns_get() fails, otherwise
flowtable cannot ever be removed, from Aohan Mei.
3) nft_rbtree GC should collect end elements that contained in
this transaction batch, new or deleted elements are never
expired. From Weiming Shi.
4) Restrict nf_nat_bpf so it does not set unknown NF_NAT_MANIP_*
values, from Fernando F. Mancera.
5) Flowtable GC must skip flows that are pending hardware updates,
generalize the PENDING flag and use it to inhibit GC.
6) Restore flowtable with ieee80211 which broke due to a relatively
recent commit, which was pulled in by -stable, causing a regression
in 6.18 kernels.
And the following IPVS fixes:
1) Fix accounting of cache entries in IPVS LBLC for destinations,
which eventually fills up the table and trigger recurrent
resizing, from Julian Anastasov.
2) Limit IPVS cache growth for LBLCR and LBLC schedulers,
from Zhiling Zou.
3) Restrict IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET for normal connections,
do not allow to use it with templates. Also from Julian.
4) Sanitize flags in IPVS sync messages received in the backup.
From Julian Anastasov.

mvneta_swbm_add_rx_fragment() sets XDP_FLAGS_FRAGS_PF_MEMALLOC on the
xdp_buff when a fragment page is a pfmemalloc one (page under memory
pressure). The xdp_buff is reused for the next frame, but only the
XDP_FLAGS_HAS_FRAGS bit was cleared at frame start, so the pfmemalloc
bit leaked from one frame into the following ones. mvneta_swbm_build_skb()
propagates the flag to skb->pfmemalloc through xdp_update_skb_frags_info(),
so the skb of a subsequent fragmented frame could be wrongly marked as
pfmemalloc even if none of its pages are under pressure.
Clear all the xdp_buff flags in mvneta_swbm_rx_frame(), which is invoked
for each new frame, instead of just the XDP_FLAGS_HAS_FRAGS bit.

Rename NF_FLOW_HW_PENDING to NF_FLOW_PENDING and use it to inhibit the
flowtable GC worker until pending hw offload work has been completed.
Apparently, nf_flow_offload_stats() can schedule work to retrieve stats
while the flow is being removed by GC.
And this bit can also be used in a follow up patch to disable GC until
the flow has been fully added in both directions.

skbedit can set skb->queue_mapping and raise the per-CPU skip_txqueue
flag so __dev_queue_xmit() honours the mapping. __dev_queue_xmit()
cleared the flag before sch_handle_egress() and only read it afterwards,
so the flag was not confined to the xmit that set it: a nested xmit
(mirred redirect or mirror, or a drop after skbedit) could set the flag
and the outer xmit would consume it for an skb that never went through
skbedit.
A forwarded packet still carries the ingress NIC's rx_queue + 1 in
skb->queue_mapping, so the outer device then indexes its tx queue state
with that stale value. Taprio's child array q->qdiscs[] is sized to the
device's queue count, so taprio_enqueue() indexes past its allocation
and dereferences the result as a struct Qdisc *.
We (ab)use the skb->nf_skip_egress which means "skip netfilter egress
for this packet" to tag to "am I in tc egress?". Despite the overload
I dont see it as a conflict since the marker is set only around the
single sch_handle_egress() call and ingress path is guarded by
tc_at_ingress.
I will send a followup(net-next) patch once this hits net-next to
rename the skb->nf_skip_egress bit/flag to skb->skip_egress
Arm the flag only from the egress classifier that can use it: raise
skip_txqueue from tcf_skbedit_act() only when it runs inside
sch_handle_egress(), thanks to skb->nf_skip_egress. An egress qdisc
classifier runs in q->enqueue(), after the tx queue has been picked,
so a mapping it sets cannot affect the current packet; arming the flag
there only pollutes it for a later xmit. Then own the flag for the xmit
frame the egress hook runs in: save the incoming value and clear it just
before sch_handle_egress(), and restore it after the hook - on the
consumed (drop) path, or, in the same call that reads it, on the
surviving path. The save and the restores stay inside the
egress_needed_key static branch, so a packet pays for them only when
egress hooks are active (2f1e85b1aee4).
Store the value netdev_cap_txqueue() selected back into skb->queue_mapping
in netdev_tx_queue_mapping(), as netdev_core_pick_tx() already does, so
the skip_txqueue path never hands a later reader on the xmit path a
mapping the device cannot serve. A store made still later in the same
frame, by a tc BPF program attached to a transmit qdisc, is outside this
path and is not re-capped; a separate followup will resolve that path.
netdev_xmit_skip_txqueue() returns the previous flag value so the
save-and-clear is one call, and a no-op stub is provided when
CONFIG_NET_EGRESS is disabled. skb->nf_skip_egress is compiled under
CONFIG_NET_EGRESS rather than CONFIG_NETFILTER_SKIP_EGRESS, so
skb_at_tc_egress() is valid whenever the egress path is built.
A local user in a network namespace can redirect a packet from a device
with more TX queues to one with fewer after setting a mapping valid only
on the larger device. That reaches these reads and, under KASAN, faults
with "slab-out-of-bounds in taprio_enqueue".
Conditions to recreate the bug: the report's own trigger is a local user
with CAP_NET_ADMIN in a network namespace, so no eBPF program is needed.
With CONFIG_NET_SCH_TAPRIO=y, CONFIG_NET_ACT_SKBEDIT=y,
CONFIG_NET_ACT_MIRRED=y, CONFIG_NET_CLS_MATCHALL=y,
CONFIG_NET_SCH_PRIO=y and KASAN enabled, create qa (3 queues), qb
(2 queues) and qc (1 queue) as dummy devices; put a taprio root on qb
(num_tc 1, queues 2@0) and clsact on all three; then add an egress
matchall filter on every device. On qa: "action skbedit queue_mapping 2
pipe action mirred egress redirect dev qb". On qb: "action mirred egress
mirror dev qc". On qc: "action skbedit queue_mapping 0 pipe". Send one
packet out qa. qc's skbedit sets the flag while qb's outer xmit is in
flight; without the fix qb consumes it and reads its two-entry taprio
child array with the forwarded packet's stale mapping. A qc whose
skbedit is instead installed in a transmit-qdisc classifier (a matchall
filter on the qc root qdisc) reaches the same code path the same way
without the fix.
Testing: on a KASAN build with panic_on_warn=1 the unfixed kernel panics
with "BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in taprio_enqueue", a read 0 bytes
past a 16-byte taprio_init() allocation, for the clsact-setter and the
transmit-qdisc-classifier reproducers and for a clsact skbedit-then-tc-BPF
store; the fixed kernel runs all three with no report, and the BPF store
variant additionally shows the expected "selects TX queue" clamp notice
from the write-back.

An RFCOMM connect() issued while a BR/EDR link is being authenticated

rfcomm_security_cfm() is called from the HCI event path, which already

hci_auth_complete_evt() and hci_encrypt_change_evt() reach the callback
the same way.
Both orders have to be seen in the same boot, which is why a BR/EDR
connection alone is not enough to show it: a session set up by the
remote side is created by rfcomm_accept_connection() in krfcommd, which
calls kernel_accept() and never takes hdev->lock under rfcomm_mutex.
Connecting a device that authenticates and encrypts the link and then
calling connect() on an RFCOMM socket towards any address - the connect
does not have to succeed, the order is recorded before the page timeout
- reports it every time.
Only the session socket has to be connected with the lock held, and it
does not: nothing else can see the socket before it is put on the
session list. So connect it first and take rfcomm_mutex afterwards,
which removes the rfcomm_mutex -> hdev->lock order for good, rather
than keeping the HCI event path out of rfcomm_mutex.
rfcomm_session_create() becomes rfcomm_session_connect(), which returns
the connected socket without touching the session list, and
rfcomm_dlc_open() adds the session once it holds the lock again. If
another opener added a session for the same pair while this socket was
connecting, that session is used and this socket is dropped.
__rfcomm_dlc_open() now takes the session it should use, and its state
check runs after the lock is re-acquired, so a DLC that was opened or
closed in the meantime is still handled.
Over an existing ACL link the connection can complete before the
session reaches the list, and the wakeup from the socket callback is
then lost, so krfcommd is woken once the session is visible.
Connecting without the lock opens a window in which the socket can be
closed. The DLC is not on a session yet, so rfcomm_dlc_close() finds
nothing to do and returns without touching it, and rfcomm_dlc_open()
would then attach a DLC whose owner is gone. rfcomm_dlc_close() now
marks such a DLC with RFCOMM_CLOSED, and rfcomm_dlc_open() checks the
mark once it holds rfcomm_mutex again and drops the socket instead of
attaching the DLC. The mark is cleared when an open starts, so a DLC
that is reused is not affected. This covers both callers of
rfcomm_dlc_open(), the socket and the tty layer.

IP-in-IP GSO can re-enter inet_gso_segment() or ipv6_gso_segment()
for each nested IP header. encap_level tracks header bytes, not callback
depth, so a deep chain can exhaust the kernel stack. Making
inet_gso_segment() stackable introduced unbounded IPv4 nesting; IPIP
GSO/TSO later made the path reachable. The IPv6 stackable path was
introduced separately and uses the same guard.
Count IPv4 and IPv6 GSO handler entries in skb_gso_cb, initialized once
per top-level GSO operation and preserved across GRE/UDP context changes.
Use the existing IP_TUNNEL_RECURSION_LIMIT for both handlers. The first
five entries pass, and the sixth returns -EINVAL before dispatching
another GSO callback.

build_pairing_cmd() looks up remote OOB data and copies its contents
without holding hdev->lock, which serializes the list's writers. After
SMP finds an entry, a concurrent management Remove Remote OOB Data
command can unlink and free it before SMP reads its present flag or
copies its random and confirmation values. Removal can also invalidate
an entry while the lookup is still traversing the list.

Taking hdev->lock in build_pairing_cmd() would recurse for callers that
already hold it and invert the device-to-L2CAP lock order on the receive
path. Add a per-device remote_oob_lock instead, held across the SMP
lookup and copies and by the add, remove and clear helpers. Cover
initialization and in-place updates as well, so SMP cannot read partially
initialized or updated OOB values. Release the mutex on allocation
failure, preserving the existing error return.
The new critical sections acquire no device, connection or channel locks.
Writers retain their existing hdev->lock protection, which continues to
serialize the other readers without changing their locking or behavior.

tcp_write_collapse_fence() sets TCP_SKB_CB(skb)->eor = 1 on
tcp_write_queue_tail(sk) to prevent skbs queued after a switch to
device encryption from being collapsed into earlier skbs.
The fence is a no-op if all earlier data has already been transmitted
when the switch happens: sk->sk_write_queue is empty. The not yet
acknowledged earlier skbs wait in sk->tcp_rtx_queue with eor 0.
On a subsequent retransmit or SACK shift, tcp_retrans_try_collapse() or
tcp_shift_skb_data() can then merge an skb queued after the switch into
one queued before it.
Both users of the fence are affected:
- psp: devices only encrypt skbs with skb->decrypted set. The merged skb
keeps decrypted = 0 from the earlier skb, so merged data sent after
psp_sock_assoc_set_tx() is retransmitted in cleartext.
- tls device offload: the merged skb straddles the start marker set in
tls_set_device_offload(). The software fallback (fill_sg_in() returns
-EINVAL) and the mlx5, nfp and funeth drivers cannot handle such an
skb and drop it. Every retransmit rebuilds the same skb, so the
connection stalls.
Fix this in two places, for defense in depth:
1. Fall back to tcp_rtx_queue_tail(sk) in tcp_write_collapse_fence()
when tcp_write_queue_tail(sk) is NULL.
2. Check !skb_cmp_decrypted(to, from) in tcp_skb_can_collapse(), as
tcp_skb_can_collapse_rx() does on receive. skb_shift(), which both
collapse paths call, already has a DEBUG_NET_WARN_ON_ONCE() for this
condition.

In a case where skb with an unconfirmed ct entry gets cloned, we may
end up committing both but with different sets of extensions.
The series of events:
1. The first clone wants to commit and runs the helpers wiring up
the extension pointer into the expectation list.
2. Then it looses the confirmation keeping the entry unconfirmed.
3. Second clone now wants to commit labels and adds the new extension
for that breaking the pointer in the expectation list causing
UAF on the destruction path later.
While this is possible to trigger, there should be no practical
network pipeline where committing both clones without modifications
into the same zone is needed. So, let's just reset the entry in case
for some reason we got an skb with a shared one during commit. This
doesn't affect any known use cases, but avoids any potential problems
with sharing and modification of the unconfirmed ct entry.
The fixes tag points to the introduction of helpers, since that's the
main UAF trigger for the sharing.

The seg6, ioam6 and rpl lwtunnels size their skb_cow_head() request as
the length they are about to push plus dst_dev_overhead(), then push the
new headers and rebuild the mac header below them with
skb_mac_header_rebuild(). That rebuild needs skb->mac_len of headroom,
but dst_dev_overhead() leaves LL_RESERVED_SPACE() of the egress device,
16 bytes for plain Ethernet.
Where the mac header is longer than that, as it is on ingress through a
VLAN device with reorder_hdr off, the rebuild runs out of room:
skb_set_mac_header(skb, -skb->mac_len) computes a negative offset,
stores it unchecked in the u16 skb->mac_header, and the memmove that
follows writes skb->mac_len bytes about 64 KB past skb->head.
Forwarding plain ping6 traffic through such a device reproduces it on
all five seg6 encapsulation modes and on the rpl and ioam6 inline paths;
skb->mac_header comes back as 65534 on a 704-byte head.
Return the larger of the two. The helper already returns skb->mac_len
when it has no dst, so this only makes the other branch agree, and it
covers every caller rather than each call site in turn.

Commit 6709d4b7bc2e ("net: nfc: Fix use-after-free caused by
nfc_llcp_find_local") attempted to fix a use-after-free (UAF) issue by
invoking nfc_llcp_local_put(local) after accessing local->gb. However,
if the reference count drops to zero, local is freed immediately,
leading to a use-after-free when callers access the returned pointer.
Alternative approaches using dynamic allocation (e.g. kmemdup) introduced
memory leaks because callers consistently treat the returned pointer as
borrowed memory.
Fix this properly by refactoring nfc_llcp_general_bytes() and
nfc_get_local_general_bytes() to accept a caller-provided output buffer
(out_gb) and its maximum length (gb_max_len). The general bytes are
safely copied into out_gb before calling nfc_llcp_local_put(local),
ensuring safe lifetime management without ownership transfer complications.
Update all callers across drivers (microread, pn533, pn544, st21nfca,
digital_dep, and nci) to provide their own destination buffers and pass
them to nfc_get_local_general_bytes().

On 64-bit systems, outgoing BR/EDR connections always fall back to page
scan repetition mode R2 with no clock offset once the system has been
up for more than five minutes, even when inquiry found the peer only
seconds earlier. This lengthens paging and can increase the risk of a
Page Timeout.
The inquiry cache stores jiffies in __u32 timestamps, but its age
helpers subtract them from unsigned long jiffies. INITIAL_JIFFIES casts
-300 * HZ through unsigned int, so jiffies crosses 2^32 five minutes
after boot on 64-bit systems. Assigning it to __u32 then drops the upper
32 bits. In one trace, a 7.6-second-old entry (HZ=1000) was reported as
2^32 + 7620 ticks old and rejected by hci_acl_create_conn_sync().
hci_inquiry() is affected by the same truncation when checking the whole
cache. 32-bit systems are unaffected because unsigned long is 32 bits
wide there.
Use unsigned long for both timestamps so they have the same width as
jiffies on 32-bit and 64-bit systems, and update the debugfs format
specifier accordingly.

ip6_route_output_flags(), ip6_rt_put_flags(), and ip6_dst_check()
detect an uncached route by list_empty(&rt->dst.rt_uncached),
which replaced the static DST_NOCACHE flag check in commit
a4c2fd7f7891 ("net: remove DST_NOCACHE flag").
When a device is unregistered, rt6_uncached_list_flush_dev()
unlinks uncached routes tied to the device from rt6_uncached_list.
Previously, they were moved to another list with list_move()
(__list_del_entry() + list_add()), and since commit 98aa546af5e4
("inet: remove (struct uncached_list)->quarantine"), the routes
are just unlinked with list_del_init().
If list_del_init() runs concurrently, list_empty() evaluates to
true; ip6_route_output_flags() calls dst_hold_safe() incorrectly
and ip6_rt_put_flags() skips ip6_rt_put(), leaking dst, and thus
dev tied via rt->from as well.
The same race is partially fixed by commit 9a6f0c4d5796 ("dst:
fix races in rt6_uncached_list_del() and rt_del_uncached_list()").
Let's check rt6->dst.rt_uncached_list instead.
Note that IPv4 does not have the same issue.

The REMCSUM option carries an absolute checksum start and checksum field
offset. gue_remcsum() passes them to skb_remcsum_process(), whose
partial path stores offset - start in the u16 skb->csum_offset variable.
If offset is less than start, this underflows.
A forwarded packet can retain CHECKSUM_PARTIAL and reach a NETIF_F_HW_CSUM
driver which trusts the metadata, leading skb_copy_and_csum_dev() to write
two bytes about 64 KiB beyond the destination buffer.
Reject reversed tuples in validate_gue_flags(), after the existing length

PSP conflicts with TLS ULP in its usage of both skb->decrypted and
sk->sk_validate_xmit_skb().
Make PSP mutually exclusive with TLS ULP, the only other user of either
of these. As other users of skb->decrypted come along, they can be added
to sk_has_decrypt_user(). It would make sense to also assert that
sk->sk_validate_xmit_skb() is also NULL in both of these setup paths for
similar future proofing, but the PSP listener/sk_clone() path is still
broken and it could be seen as a regression to not allow rx assoc to run
on a child of a listener socket with PSP tx assoc state.
Include all TCP ULPs in the sk_has_decrypt_user() check, even though TLS
is the only one that conflicts with PSP via the decrypted bit. This is
intentional because PSP was not designed to be used with ULPs. It is
best to close off surface area that may make bugs reachable, until
someone wishes to design and test an actual user of PSP with ULPs.

The CoDel control law schedules the next drop one interval/sqrt(count)
after the previous drop, using the configured interval
(codel_params.interval). For very small intervals the scheduled step
rounds down to zero, so the dropping loop in codel_dequeue() never
advances and drains the entire backlog under the qdisc lock in one
call - an unprivileged user can trigger a soft lockup this way.
Fix in the shared codel code used by both codel and fq_codel:
1. Make the control-law step at least 1 tick so the dropping loop
always moves forward.
2. Cap the dropping loop at CODEL_MAX_DROPS_PER_DEQUEUE (256) drops
per codel_dequeue() call, resyncing drop_next to now when the cap
is hit: the catch-up owed to the loop grows with the idle gap and
the backlog, which no interval threshold can bound. This is a
deliberate behaviour change after long idle gaps.
The cap applies to fq_codel (4b549a2ef4be) and the mac80211 TXQ path
(fixed interval, cap only).
The target sojourn delay (codel_params.target) is not validated: it
does not feed the control law, so a sub-tick value is aggressive
rather than deadlock-prone.
Conditions to recreate the bug:
- tc qdisc add dev lo root handle 1: tbf rate 1kbit burst 2kb limit 1000000
- tc qdisc add dev lo parent 1:1 handle 10: codel interval 2us target 1ms noecn limit 1000000 (same for fq_codel)
- unpatched kernel: tc accepts it; a UDP flood under the 1kbit tbf
soft-lockups (watchdog: BUG: soft lockup) while one
codel_dequeue() call drops the backlog under the qdisc lock
- patched kernel: same setup, at most 256 drops per dequeue call,
no soft lockup
Testing: claim reproducer and interval 2us/3us variants run clean;
tdc qdisc category passes (see the selftests patch).

works live, so disconnecting during an active dump lets them access hdev
after hci_release_dev() frees it.
Shut down coredump processing during unregister. Close the producer gate
under dump_q.lock before disabling both works, then free the active buffer
and queued packets under hci_dev_lock. Serializing the gate with enqueue
prevents controller-specific workers from adding packets after the final
purge.

An RTM_NEWQDISC request can make clsact bind a populated shared ingress
block during ->init(), publishing an embedded mini_Qdisc to lockless
readers. If the same request has an invalid TCA_RATE, estimator setup
fails after ->init(); the unwind removes the pointer but synchronously
frees its containing qdisc while tc_run() may still hold it.
Retire failed qdiscs through the same RCU helper as normal destruction.

The RX softirq producer ieee802154_subif_frame() queues received beacon
and MAC-command frames onto local->rx_beacon_list / rx_mac_cmd_list and
schedules a process-context worker, storing a raw mac_pkt->sdata (and
skb->dev == sdata->dev) with neither a reference nor any locking:
- the lists have no lock: the softirq producer list_add_tail()s while the
mac_wq worker list_del()s, so sibling interfaces on the same phy corrupt
the list;
- the workers dereference the interface after it may have been freed.
mac802154_rx_mac_cmd_worker() touches mac_pkt->sdata directly, and
mac802154_rx_beacon_worker() -> mac802154_process_beacon() dereferences
skb->dev (== sdata->dev). Removing an interface frees its sdata
(netdev_priv) while a queued frame still points at it, so a later worker
run is a use-after-free.
Reproduced under KASAN by flooding a victim interface with MAC command
frames and removing it (the beacon path is the same class via skb->dev):
BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in mac802154_rx_mac_cmd_worker+0x463/0x630 [mac802154]
Read of size 4 at addr ffff888002f9ea18 by task kworker/u8:1/31

Fix both lists together:
- add local->rx_lock and take it around every list access: the softirq
producer (plain spin_lock, softirq context) and the workers and flush
(spin_lock_bh, process context);
- pin the interface for the lifetime of a queued frame with
netdev_hold()/netdev_put(), so the worker can safely dereference sdata /
skb->dev even while the interface is being removed;
- dequeue under the lock at the head and loop-drain the whole list in the
workers (they previously processed one frame per run and relied on a
later enqueue to drain the rest);
- drop not-yet-started frames of an interface before it is unregistered,
from ieee802154_if_remove() (after the RCU grace period) and from the
ieee802154_remove_interfaces() loop -- the latter is the whole-phy
teardown path, which does not go through ieee802154_if_remove().
An in-flight worker that already dequeued a frame keeps its own netdev
reference; unregister_netdevice() then waits it out in netdev_run_todo(),
which runs at rtnl_unlock() (rtnl released) and after the interface has
been closed, so it does not pin rtnl. A worker blocked in an association
TX only delays that one interface's unregister (the usual "waiting for %s
to become free"), it does not hold rtnl. netdev_hold() is used for this
reason instead of a cancel_work_sync() under rtnl, which would block on
the worker's unbounded MLME TX wait via ieee802154_sync_queue().
The mac-command worker additionally skips processing for a stopped
interface (ieee802154_sdata_running()), avoiding a needless association
response during teardown.

pmc->sflist is read locklessly under rcu_read_lock() by
inet6_mc_check() during packet reception in the UDP and RAW
multicast receive paths.
ip6_mc_source() mutated psl->sl_addr and psl->sl_count in-place
when adding or removing a source filter. Additionally, when expanding
the filter buffer, newpsl was published via rcu_assign_pointer()
before writing the new source into the array.
Because 16-byte struct in6_addr writes are not atomic and array
shifting is not synchronized with RCU readers, concurrent readers in
inet6_mc_check() could read torn IPv6 addresses or observe
duplicated/missed source entries.
Fix this by switching ip6_mc_source() to copy-on-write RCU updates:
allocate and fully populate newpsl before publishing it via
rcu_assign_pointer(), and reclaim the old filter via kfree_rcu(),
matching ip6_mc_msfilter().
Also remove the now unused IP6_SFBLOCK macro.

virtio_transport_recv_pkt() looks up sockets first by the full source and
destination tuple, then by destination only in the bound table. The
fallback is needed for listening and connecting sockets, but sockets remain
in the bound table after connect(), so it can also return a non-listening
socket.
The fallback does not validate the source address. In TCP_SYN_SENT, a
RESPONSE from an unrelated source can transition the victim socket to
TCP_ESTABLISHED while its stored remote address remains unchanged.
Subsequent RW packets from that source are delivered through the same
destination-only fallback.
This was reproduced with capability-empty processes under different UIDs.
The attacker discovered the target tuple through unprivileged AF_VSOCK
sock_diag and caused the victim socket to read 16 attacker-chosen bytes;
the intended peer-side socket read 0 of those 16 bytes.
Add vsock_check_source() to validate the transport, source port and source
CID against the peer stored in a non-listening socket. The local transport
is the CID exception because its packets are generated internally with
VMADDR_CID_LOCAL as their source, including connections using CID aliases.
Use the helper after lock_sock() in the virtio receive path.

raw_v4_match() reads inet_daddr, inet_rcv_saddr and
sk_bound_dev_if locklessly under RCU. Bind and connect writers are
annotated, but __udp_disconnect() still clears the same fields using
plain stores.
Commit 18f116931f52e ("raw: annotate lockless match fields in
raw_v4_match()") added the lockless readers and annotated the raw bind
and datagram connect writers. Its v4 revision intentionally left the
shared disconnect-side IPv4 writers for follow-up cleanup.
Complete that follow-up by using WRITE_ONCE() for the disconnect-side
stores, including the inet_rcv_saddr reset in inet_reset_saddr(), to
pair with the lockless raw socket matcher.

tcp_send_active_reset() can be called from contexts where gfp_any()
(in tcp_disconnect()) or sk->sk_allocation (in __tcp_close() and
mptcp_do_fastclose()) evaluates to GFP_KERNEL, which includes
__GFP_FS and __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM.
Allocating with GFP_KERNEL while holding the socket lock (sk_lock) creates
a lockdep dependency:
sk_lock -> fs_reclaim
This causes false-positive lockdep circular locking warnings with storage
subsystems (such as nvme-tcp) that acquire socket locks in block I/O paths
and invoke tcp_disconnect() or close sockets upon teardown:
set->srcu -> sk_lock -> fs_reclaim -> elevator_lock -> set->srcu
Active resets are small RST packet headers that should never
enter direct reclaim or block while holding socket locks.
Use sk_gfp_mask(sk, GFP_ATOMIC | __GFP_NOWARN) inside tcp_send_active_reset()
and remove its priority argument. This preserves __GFP_MEMALLOC access
for SOCK_MEMALLOC sockets, suppresses allocation failure warnings,
and aligns with other control packet allocations (e.g. tcp_send_fin(),
__tcp_send_ack(), tcp_xmit_probe_skb()).

Netfilter fixes for net
The following patchset contains Netfilter fixes for net:
1) Use DEBUG_NET_WARN_ON_ONCE() instead of WARN_ON() from the tproxy
datapath, a recent bug found a way to reach WARN_ON from datapath
due to insufficient validation of xt_TPROTO checkentry.
From Fernando F. Mancera.
2) Similar to previous patch to replace WARN_ON_ONCE by
DEBUG_NET_WARN_ON_ONCE() for connlimit. Not known issue, but
since this patch has been around for a while, let's merge it.
Also from Fernando.
3) Move nf_tables harware offload commit path after chain blob
and audit to reduce chances of leaving the hardware in
inconsistent state.
4) Add missing vzeroupper to nf_tables pipapo AVX2 to address
performace degradation to later user of SSE code,
from Eric Biggers.
5) Remove pr_debug() in x_tables extensions, a recent bogus found a
way to print a unsanitized string in xt_IDLETIMER, many of these
pr_debug() calls are there for historical reasons.
6) Use pr_info_ratelimited() in x_tables .checkentry.
7) Fix an imbalance in module refcount due to incorrect override
expression logic with sets. Remove unnecessary clone in control
plane, use the existing expressions provided by set or dynset
expression. Release override expressions only.
8) Tigthen nf_tables device name removal, it is possible to remove
prefix strings with exact device name. From Fernando F. Mancera.
9) Set on the set dead bit earlier, otherwise it is possible to
call .commit on deleted sets. This also addresses the
re-introduction of a bug.

qdisc_get_stab() accepts a user-supplied size table, and
__qdisc_calculate_pkt_len() amplifies qdisc_pkt_len() through the
overhead, the size-table data (u16), and size_log (up to
STAB_SIZE_LOG_MAX). A crafted stab can therefore set qdisc_pkt_len()
to ~1 GiB for an ordinary skb. Per-flow deficit schedulers such as
DRR and ETS replenish one quantum per loop iteration; with a tiny
quantum (1) they spin billions of times under the qdisc lock,
producing a soft lockup / RCU stall as illustrated by vega@nebusec.ai.
Cap the final qdisc_pkt_len() to QDISC_PKT_LEN_MAX so the size-table
amplification cannot drive deficit schedulers into an unbounded loop.
A legitimate size table (e.g. qfq's overhead 999999999, which is
handled by dropping) is still accepted.
Introduce cap QDISC_PKT_LEN_MAX (1 << 20) = 1 MiB which is well above
any legitimate single-skb wire length: the largest current skb->len
is GSO_MAX_SIZE (524280), and an ATM-style size table (53/48 cell tax)
amplifies that to ~578 KB, both comfortably below 1 MiB. At the same
time, 1 MiB bounds the deficit refill loop to ~1M iterations per
packet with quantum=1, which completes in a few milliseconds well
under the demonstrated softlockup threshold (~10^9 iterations).
Conditions to recreate the bug:
- CONFIG_NET_SCHED=y, CONFIG_NET_SCH_DRR=y (or CONFIG_NET_SCH_ETS=y).
- Attach a DRR (or ETS) root qdisc with a crafted TCA_STAB that
amplifies qdisc_pkt_len to ~1 GiB (e.g. size_log=15, data=[32768]).
- Add a class with a tiny quantum of 1 and send one small packet; the
deficit loop spins billions of times under the qdisc lock and trips
the softlockup detector (panic with kernel.softlockup_panic=1).
- Reachable as root or from an unprivileged user in a fresh user+net
namespace (unshare -Urn) with namespace-local CAP_NET_ADMIN.

Both the dynset and newsetelem path clone the existing set expressions
when setting set element expressions if no override expressions are
provided. This results in a double clone, once to clone the template set
expressions then another clone on the new element. Add a flag to
annotate if userspace provides a override expression (ie. expression of
the same type of the set but different configuration), otherwise borrow
the existing expression from the set. Add conditionals to release
expression iif they represent an override. Use this new override_exprs
flag to dump the dynset expression override to userspace.
This simplifies the existing logic and it also fixes a bug with the
connlimit expression which results in a module refcount imbalance

The zero-copy path reads TX metadata whenever the UMEM has metadata space,
even if the descriptor does not set XDP_TX_METADATA. Pass descriptor
options through the metadata helpers and ignore metadata unless the option
is set.
This does not fix the existing per-WQE metadata handling for mlx5 MPWQEs.
Only the descriptor that starts a session passes through
xsk_tx_metadata_request() and configures offload state shared by the batch.
Metadata on descriptors joining an open session is therefore not validated
and does not configure its requested offloads. In addition, a non-NULL
metadata pointer from such a descriptor is treated as a timestamp
completion request even when XDP_TXMD_FLAGS_TIMESTAMP is not set, so its
metadata union can be overwritten with an unrequested timestamp. Fixing
mixed metadata states within one MPWQE requires a separate change.

For L2CAP sockets without owning sk->sk_socket, reading
l2cap_pi(sk)->chan may race against concurrent l2cap_sock_kill() ->
l2cap_sock_put_chan(). This excludes simultaneous proto_ops callbacks,
but access in l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() has unsafe lockless read.
[Task 1] [Task 2 (hdev->workqueue)]
l2cap_sock_release(parent) l2cap_disconn_cfm
l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen l2cap_conn_del

bt_sk(sk)->parent = NULL

chan = READ l2cap_pi(sk)->chan l2cap_pi(sk)->chan = NULL
l2cap_chan_hold_unless_zero l2cap_put_chan(chan)
kref_get_unless_zero(&chan->ref)
Task 1 may observe NULL which causes null-ptr-deref.
Fix the race by taking lock_sock() in l2cap_sock_kill() to
synchronize with l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen(). hold_unless_zero() is not
needed here, l2cap_pi(sk)->chan owns reference if it is non-NULL.
Clarify code comments vs. locking.

'uuid_count' member of struct 'discovery_state' is assigned and read
without any locks, so there is a chance of situation when
uuid_count != 0, but uuids is NULL and there will be NULL pointer
dereference.
Possible race:
'hci_update_passive_scan_sync'
'hci_discovery_filter_clear'
hdev->discovery.uuid_count = 0;
<----------------------preempted----------------------------->
'start_service_discovery'
// Set uuid_count to value != 0
hdev->discovery.uuid_count = uuid_count;
hdev->discovery.uuids = kmemdup(...);
<----------------------preempted----------------------------->
spin_lock(&hdev->discovery.lock);
kfree(hdev->discovery.uuids);
hdev->discovery.uuids = NULL;
spin_unlock(&hdev->discovery.lock);
Now uuids == NULL and uuid_count != 0.
So 'mgmt_device_found' -> 'is_filter_match' -> 'eir_has_uuids' receives
non consistent discovery state, where NULL dereference of uuids happens.
To fix it let's add discovery.lock around every read/write of uuid_count,
uuids pair of struct members. It is also important to assign uuid_count
value only after success kmemdup() allocation in
start_service_discovery(), otherwise uuids is NULL, because kmemdup failed,
but uuid_count is already assigned to non zero value.

tcp_select_initial_window() assumes that callers never pass an MSS
smaller than 1, but route-derived advmss values can violate that
assumption.
A too-small explicit RTAX_ADVMSS is one way to get there, but it is not
the only one. The same divide-by-zero can also be reached through the
"default advmss" path when RTAX_ADVMSS is left at 0 and the effective
advmss is later driven down by route MTU and min_adv_mss.
Introduce a tcp_dst_advmss() helper that clamps route advmss to
TCP_MIN_MSS before TCP consumes it, and use it in the TCP paths that
derive advmss from dst metrics. This keeps the effective MSS from
dropping to zero before tcp_select_initial_window() rounds the receive
window.

The inetpeer rate limiting system stores peer entries in a Red-Black tree
keyed deterministically on the remote IP address. Because tree lookups walk
the RB-tree using standard lexicographical comparisons (inetpeer_addr_cmp),
an off-path adversary can predict the exact topology of the tree and the
sequence of nodes traversed during lookups (the gc_stack candidate list).
By combining deterministic tree traversal with aggressive garbage collection
(triggered when tree size exceeds inet_peer_threshold), an attacker can
selectively force the eviction of targeted inet_peer nodes. When an evicted
node is subsequently re-created upon receiving a new packet, its rate-limiting
token bucket (rate_tokens, rate_last) is reset to full capacity. This creates
a side-channel primitive allowing off-path attackers to bypass IP-keyed ICMP
rate limits and infer open UDP ports (similar to SAD DNS style attacks).
Mitigate this by randomizing the RB-tree node comparison logic using SipHash
with a secret key (inetpeer_hash_key) initialized via net_get_random_once().
Nodes are ordered in the tree by SipHash(addr, key) rather than raw IP
addresses. Because the secret key is unknown to external entities, the tree
layout and lookup traversal paths are unpredictable to off-path adversaries,
breaking the deterministic eviction gadget.
Cache the computed 64-bit SipHash (hash) in struct inet_peer and compute the
target hash (dhash) once at the beginning of inet_getpeer() to avoid recomputing
SipHash at every step of the RB-tree walk.

The MSS a host puts in its SYN tells the peer how big a segment it may
send us. Right now we can shrink it with a PMTU we learned on our own
send path, which is the wrong direction entirely.
On asymmetric paths this bites - think DSR load balancers, where the
request side goes through a smaller-MTU overlay. We learn a small PMTU
going out, then advertise a small MSS, and the peer stays capped for the
whole connection even though its path back to us is wide. MSS only shows
up in the SYN and never grows back.
On symmetric paths we lose nothing by dropping it either: the peer runs
its own PMTU discovery and usually already knows the real path MTU.
So work out the advertised MSS from the configured route or device MTU
and ignore the learned PMTU. Our send side is unchanged, still clamped by
tcp_current_mss(). Add ip_dst_mtu_configured()/ip6_dst_mtu_configured()
and use them from the two default_advmss() paths.

Netfilter/IPVS fixes for net-next
This contains fixes for nf_tables, revisit issues with expectation
infra updates reported by sashiko, an ipset fix for deletions in the
hash:net type and tne fix for the IPVS FTP helper.
1) Validate layer 4 header mangling done via nfnetlink_queue and
nft_payload, this is a follow up to recent similar validation
at layer 3. From Zhiling Zou.
2) Do not allocate memory on delete operations in ipset hash:net
type, delete operation must always succeed. From Florian Westphal.
3) Deliver nft_obj overquota packet path notification directly via
nfnetlink, do not use the control plane batch logic.
From Fourie Zhang.
4) Follow up to controlidate check for reinserted dead expectations,
to cover the nf_conntrack_expect_related_pair() function too.
5) Do not expose expectation dead flag to userspace via ctnetlink.
6) Make commit set_update_list per-netns to prepare to publish
set clone earlier.
7) Publish the set clone earlier from commit path to address set
lookup failures during table re-creation, this is targetting
the rbtree and pipapo set backends.
8) Fix an integer overflow in the IPVS FTP helper. A similar fix
was already proposed for the conntrack FTP helper months ago.
