[Why & How]
Cache the last programmed dc_flip_addrs/dc_plane_info/dc_scaling_info in
dm_plane_state and carry them across atomic_duplicate_state. In
amdgpu_dm_commit_planes() attach each flip_addr/plane_info/scaling_info
surface update only when it differs from the cache (memcmp), so an
address-only flip sends no plane_info/scaling_info update and stays on the
FAMS2 offload path.

[Why & How]
Split the boolean's two meanings: it only tracks whether the commit needs
to rebuild the dc_state and take the global lock, not the update magnitude.
Rename it so the name reflects that; no functional change.

[Why]
Two memory limitations - limited stack size and heap allocations
not allowed in interrupts - combined together lead to scratch
structures and buffers scattered throughout the code, requiring
piping them through interfaces.
[How]
* OS-provided lock-free lists still need external locking for some
operations, requiring a custom implementation.
* Implement memory pool which can preallocate a number of blocks
with given size, then later "allocate" from them without any heap use.
* Pool implemented as lock-free Treiber stack to avoid operations
being blocked by suspended thread, including a same-thread interrupt
exemption causing an indefinite block.
* Indexed free list and generation counter protect against ABA
data corruption.

[Why]
Every HWSS Block Level Sequence operation should have flat parameter list
and an explicit instance pointer. Global state should not be accessed at
execute time.
HUBP_UPDATE_PLANE_ADDR does not adhere. It stashes pipe_ctx in its params.
Pipe context is mutated during execution.
[How]
- Adjust HUBP_UPDATE_PLANE_ADDR params to hubp_program_surface_flip_and_addr
parameter list.
- Add a build-phase hwss vtable entry - prepare_plane_addr_update that does
parameter preparation and all global state mutation.
- Execute hubp_program_surface_flip_and_addr with precalculated parameters
during execution phase.

Peak bandwidth samples could intermittently report invalid counter

A 4K144 display attached through a USB4 (Thunderbolt) dock does not light
up on DCN4.2. The native DP link bandwidth reported for the sink is far
larger than the USB4 tunnel can carry, so DSC is sized to the link and the
resulting stream overflows the tunnel's granted bandwidth. The bandwidth
allocation request fails and the display stays dark.
When the endpoint is a USB4 DPIA with BW allocation enabled, force DSC and
cap the target to 8 bpp in SST mode. This keeps the compressed stream within
the tunnel budget and reserves headroom for other DP tunnels
sharing the same host router.

Commit "drm/amd/display: Force DSC to 8bpp for SST DP tunneling over USB4"
forces DSC and caps the target to 8 bpp for SST streams on a USB4 DPIA
link with bandwidth allocation enabled. The MST DSC fairness path does
not honor that policy: it derives the bpp range purely from the timing's
DSC policy and picks the highest bpp the native DP link can carry, which
overflows the smaller USB4 tunnel budget on a dock that fans out via an
internal MST hub.
Apply the equivalent policy in compute_mst_dsc_configs_for_link(): when
the link is a USB4 DPIA with BW allocation enabled, force DSC on
(so the fairness pass does not leave a stream uncompressed just because
the native link looks large enough) and pin the target to the minimum
bpp (so the compressed stream fits the tunnel and reserves headroom for
the other tunnels on the same host router).

[WHAT]
Add KUnit tests for pre_compute_mst_dsc_configs_for_state() covering an
SST stream, a stream with an incomplete topology and a link that does
not need a recompute, and for compute_mst_dsc_configs_for_link()
covering a mode that fits uncompressed, a link that needs compression,
a link that runs out of time slots, forced DSC, forced DSC on an
already compressed stream, a bits per pixel overwrite, disabled
compression and a target that lands between the DSC limits.
[HOW]
Build an MST topology with a payload allocation and a DC state holding
the streams under test, and bind the connector to a CRTC through the
atomic helpers so the state teardown keeps the reference counts
balanced. Each path is then selected by varying the available time
slots and the per stream DSC policy.

that is fully brought up, a DVI link that maps to a DVI-D connector
without a CEC notifier, and the get_modes() helper hook it installs.

[why & how]
DCN IP team recommends SDPIF_PORT_CONTROL=0 as POR value for APUs.
The new POR value ensures that DCHUBBUB will not disconnect the SDP port to DF unless it explicitly
receives the pre_cstate_req signal. SDPIF_PORT_CONTROL=1 will only be used for IPS entry sequences,
where it will be restored to 0 upon IPS exit.

[WHY]
The RMCM logic was embedded inside the MPC block, sharing its source files,
functions, register definitions and other logic. This tight coupling
created several problems:
- The RMCM vtable was bolted onto struct mpc_funcs, making it impossible
to instantiate RMCM independently of MPC
- RMCM resource acquisition had no tracking - there was no mechanism to
allocate the 2 available RMCM instances to pipes or release them
[HOW]
RMCM is now a separate module:
- dc/rmcm/ directory with per-ASIC implementations
- new struct rmcm with its own funcs vtable containing shaper,
3DLUT, and fast-load operations
- removed all RMCM code from MPC
- added RMCM resource lifecycle management in dc_resource.c:
- resource_assign_rmcm(): Assigns the instances for a whole context, so a
plane that is only now asking never evicts one already using an instance
- resource_release_rmcm(): Clears the pipe's allocation.
- updated resource pool constructors (dcn42, dcn42b, dcn60) to create
RMCM instances via the new dcnXX_rmcm_create() and destroy them in
pool teardown

[Why]
Hwss executors shouldn't be coupled to complex dc structs such as
pipe_ctx.
[How]
Refactor cursor offload hardware sequencer extension to accept only
the parameters required for programming cursor offload state.
Extract these parameters in the generic HWSS layer for both immediate execution
and block-sequence construction.

drm_client_register() adds the DRM client to the device client list
before invoking the initial hotplug callback. If the hotplug callback
fails, the client remains registered.
For the fbdev client, a failure during drm_fb_helper_initial_config()
causes the partially initialized fbdev helper to be cleaned up.
drm_fb_helper_fini() releases fb_helper->info and leaves it NULL.
The fbdev client therefore remains registered even though there is no
fully initialized framebuffer device.
Later, when userspace closes the DRM file descriptor, drm_release()
can invoke the restore callbacks of registered DRM clients:
drm_release()
drm_client_dev_restore()
drm_fbdev_client_restore()
drm_fb_helper_restore_fbdev_mode_unlocked()
drm_fbdev_client_restore() currently restores the fbdev state
unconditionally. For a partially initialized fbdev client this can
submit an incomplete modeset state and subsequently access fbdev
state which has not been initialized, resulting in the warning and
NULL pointer dereference above.
drm_fbdev_client_unregister() already uses fb_helper->info to
distinguish a fully probed framebuffer device from a partially
initialized client.
Use the same condition in drm_fbdev_client_restore() and skip restore
if no framebuffer device has been successfully initialized.
