2019-08-19media: gspca: zero usb_buf on errorHans Verkuil
If reg_r() fails, then gspca_dev->usb_buf was left uninitialized, and some drivers used the contents of that buffer in logic. This caused several syzbot errors: https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=397fd082ce5143e2f67d https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=1a35278dd0ebfb3a038a https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?extid=06ddf1788cfd048c5e82 I analyzed the gspca drivers and zeroed the buffer where needed. Use a more typical logging style. The current macro hides the gspca_dev argument so add it to the macro uses instead. 2017-04-05[media] gspca: konica: add missing endpoint sanity checkJohan Hovold
Make sure to check the number of endpoints to avoid accessing memory beyond the endpoint array should a device lack the expected endpoints. Note that, as far as I can tell, the gspca framework has already made sure there is at least one endpoint in the current alternate setting so there should be no risk for a NULL-pointer dereference here. 2017-01-27[media] media: Drop FSF's postal address from the source code filesSakari Ailus
Drop the FSF's postal address from the source code files that typically contain mostly the license text. Of the 628 removed instances, 578 are outdated. The patch has been created with the following command without manual edits: git grep -l "675 Mass Ave\|59 Temple Place\|51 Franklin St" -- \ drivers/media/ include/media|while read i; do i=$i perl -e ' open(F,"< $ENV{i}"); $a=join("", <F>); $a =~ s/[ \t]*\*\n.*You should.*\n.*along with.*\n.*(\n.*USA.*$)?\n//m && $a =~ s/(^.*)Or, (point your browser to) /$1To obtain the license, $2\n$1/m; close(F); open(F, "> $ENV{i}"); print F $a; close(F);'; done Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com>

2016-07-08[media] gspca: avoid unused variable warningsArnd Bergmann
When CONFIG_INPUT is disabled, multiple gspca backend drivers print compile-time warnings about unused variables: media/usb/gspca/cpia1.c: In function 'sd_stopN': media/usb/gspca/cpia1.c:1627:13: error: unused variable 'sd' [-Werror=unused-variable] media/usb/gspca/konica.c: In function 'sd_stopN': media/usb/gspca/konica.c:246:13: error: unused variable 'sd' [-Werror=unused-variable] This annotates the variables as __maybe_unused, to let the compiler know that they are declared intentionally. 2013-03-05[media] gspca: Remove gspca-specific debug magicTheodore Kilgore
Instead use v4l2_dbg and v4l2_err. Note that the PDEBUG macro is kept to make this patch-set less invasive, but it is simply a wrapper around v4l2_dbg now. Most of the other changes are there to make the dev parameter for the v4l2_xxx macros available everywhere we do logging.
