2017-12-28media: move dvb kAPI headers to include/mediaMauro Carvalho Chehab
Except for DVB, all media kAPI headers are at include/media. Move the headers to it. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-09-05media: dst_ca: remove CA_SET_DESCR boilerplateMauro Carvalho Chehab
This ioctl is not implemented at dst_ca driver. There's just a boilerplate code there. Remove it, as it is unlikely that anyone would implement it those days. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-09-05media: dst_ca: return a proper error code from CA errorsMauro Carvalho Chehab
Right now, on several places, the driver is returning a "-1" error to userspace, instead of a proper error code. Fix it. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-09-05media: ca.h: get rid of CA_SET_PIDMauro Carvalho Chehab
This ioctl seems to be some attempt to support a feature at the bt8xx dst_ca driver. Yet, as said there, it "needs more work". Right now, the code there is just a boilerplate. At the end of the day, no driver uses this ioctl, nor it is documented anywhere (except for "needs more work"). So, get rid of it. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-05-19[media] bt8xx: add missing breakMauro Carvalho Chehab
The logic that handles CA_SET_PID is clearly missing a break: it prints that the command succeeded, but, due to the missing break, it would be returning -EOPNOTSUPP, as if the driver weren't supporting such ioctl. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-02-03[media] bt8xx: Delete unnecessary variable initialisations in ca_send_message()Markus Elfring
Two local variables will be set to an appropriate value a bit later. Thus omit the explicit initialisation at the beginning. Signed-off-by: Markus Elfring <elfring@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2017-02-03[media] bt8xx: Delete two error messages for a failed memory allocationMarkus Elfring
Omit extra messages for a memory allocation failure in two functions. Link: http://events.linuxfoundation.org/sites/events/files/slides/LCJ16-Refactor_Strings-WSang_0.pdf Signed-off-by: Markus Elfring <elfring@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2016-07-08[media] bt8xx: remove needless module refcountingAlexey Khoroshilov
It is responsibility of a caller of fops->open(), to make sure an owner of the fops is available until file is closed. So, there is no need to lock THIS_MODULE explicitly. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). 2016-01-11[media] dvb: modify core to implement interfaces/entities at MC new genMauro Carvalho Chehab
The Media Controller New Generation redefines the types for both interfaces and entities to be used on DVB. Make the needed changes at the DVB core for all interfaces, entities and data and interface links to appear in the graph. 2015-06-05[media] bt8xx: remove needless checkMauro Carvalho Chehab
As reported by smatch: drivers/media/pci/bt8xx/dst_ca.c:323 ca_get_message() warn: this array is probably non-NULL. 'p_ca_message->msg' drivers/media/pci/bt8xx/dst_ca.c:498 ca_send_message() warn: this array is probably non-NULL. 'p_ca_message->msg' Those two checks are needless/useless, as the ca_msg struct is declared as: typedef struct ca_msg { unsigned int index; unsigned int type; unsigned int length; unsigned char msg[256]; } ca_msg_t; So, if the p_ca_message pointer is not null, msg will also be not null. 2014-09-03[media] bt8xx: just return 0 instead of using a varMauro Carvalho Chehab
Instead of allocating a var to store 0 and just return it, change the code to return 0 directly. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <m.chehab@samsung.com>
2013-02-05[media] drivers/media/pci: use memmove for overlapping regionsNickolai Zeldovich
Change several memcpy() to memmove() in cases when the regions are definitely overlapping; memcpy() of overlapping regions is undefined behavior in C and can produce different results depending on the compiler, the memcpy implementation, etc. Cc: Andy Walls <awalls@md.metrocast.net> Signed-off-by: Nickolai Zeldovich <nickolai@csail.mit.edu> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2012-10-07[media] drivers/media: Remove unnecessary semicolonPeter Senna Tschudin
A simplified version of the semantic patch that finds this problem is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @r1@ statement S; position p,p1; @@ S@p1;@p @script:python r2@ p << r1.p; p1 << r1.p1; @@ if p[0].line != p1[0].line_end: cocci.include_match(False) @@ position r1.p; @@ -;@p // </smpl> [mchehab@redhat.com: some hunks got bitroted; applied only the ones that succeeds] Signed-off-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> [crope@iki.fi: For my drivers a8293, af9013, af9015, af9035] Acked-by: Antti Palosaari <crope@iki.fi> Reviewed-by: Antti Palosaari <crope@iki.fi> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2012-08-13[media] Rename media/dvb as media/pciMauro Carvalho Chehab
The remaining dvb drivers are pci, so rename them to match the bus. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
