Remove ansi_cprng, since it's obsolete and unused, as confirmed at
https://lore.kernel.org/r/aQxpnckYMgAAOLpZ@gondor.apana.org.au/

This was originally added in 2008, apparently as a FIPS approved random
number generator. Whether this has ever belonged upstream is
questionable. Either way, ansi_cprng is no longer usable for this
purpose, since it's been superseded by the more modern algorithms in
crypto/drbg.c, and FIPS itself no longer allows it. (NIST SP 800-131A
Rev 1 (2015) says that RNGs based on ANSI X9.31 will be disallowed after
2015. NIST SP 800-131A Rev 2 (2019) confirms they are now disallowed.)

Therefore, there is no reason to keep it around.

Inspired by commit c065b6046b34 ("Use CONFIG_EXT4_FS instead of
CONFIG_EXT3_FS in all of the defconfigs") I looked around for any other
left-over EXT3 config options, and found some old defconfig files still
mentioned CONFIG_EXT3_DEFAULTS_TO_ORDERED.

That config option was removed a decade ago in commit c290ea01abb7 ("fs:
Remove ext3 filesystem driver"). It had a good run, but let's remove it
for good.

Commit d6ace46c82fd ("ext4: remove obsolete EXT3 config options")
removed the obsolete EXT3_CONFIG options, since it had been over a
decade since fs/ext3 had been removed. Unfortunately, there were a
number of defconfigs that still used CONFIG_EXT3_FS which the cleanup
commit didn't fix up. This led to a large number of defconfig test
builds to fail. Oops.

Commit a2225d931f75 ("autofs: remove left-over autofs4 stubs")
promised the removal of the fs/autofs/Kconfig fragment for AUTOFS4_FS
within a couple of releases, but five years later this still has not
happened yet, and AUTOFS4_FS is still enabled in 63 defconfigs.

Get rid of it mechanically:

   git grep -l CONFIG_AUTOFS4_FS -- '*defconfig' |
       xargs sed -i 's/AUTOFS4_FS/AUTOFS_FS/'

Also just remove the AUTOFS4_FS config option stub. Anybody who hasn't
regenerated their config file in the last five years will need to just
get the new name right when they do.

<title>mm/slab: rename CONFIG_SLAB to CONFIG_SLAB_DEPRECATED</title>

As discussed at LSF/MM [1] [2] and with no objections raised there,
deprecate the SLAB allocator. Rename the user-visible option so that
users with CONFIG_SLAB=y get a new prompt with explanation during make
oldconfig, while make olddefconfig will just switch to SLUB.

In all defconfigs with CONFIG_SLAB=y remove the line so those also
switch to SLUB. Regressions due to the switch should be reported to
linux-mm and slab maintainers.

<title>mm: memcontrol: drop dead CONFIG_MEMCG_SWAP config symbol</title>

Since 2d1c498072de ("mm: memcontrol: make swap tracking an integral part
of memory control"), CONFIG_MEMCG_SWAP hasn't been a user-visible config
option anymore, it just means CONFIG_MEMCG &amp;&amp; CONFIG_SWAP.

Update the sites accordingly and drop the symbol.

[ While touching the docs, remove two references to CONFIG_MEMCG_KMEM,
  which hasn't been a user-visible symbol for over half a decade. ]

<title>rcu: Fix undefined Kconfig macros</title>

Invoking scripts/checkkconfigsymbols.py in the Linux-kernel source tree
located the following issues:

1. TREE_PREEMPT_RCU
Referencing files: arch/sh/configs/sdk7786_defconfig

It should now be CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU. Except that the CONFIG_PREEMPT=y in
that same file implies CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU=y. Therefore, delete the
CONFIG_TREE_PREEMPT_RCU=y line.

The reason is as follows:

In kernel/rcu/Kconfig, we have
config PREEMPT_RCU
        bool
        default y if PREEMPTION

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/kbuild/kconfig-language.txt says,
"The default value is only assigned to the config symbol if no other value
was set by the user (via the input prompt above)."
there is no prompt in config PREEMPT_RCU entry, so we are guaranteed to
get CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU=y when CONFIG_PREEMPT is present.

2. RCU_CPU_STALL_INFO
Referencing files: arch/xtensa/configs/nommu_kc705_defconfig

The old Kconfig option RCU_CPU_STALL_INFO was removed by commit
75c27f119b64 ("rcu: Remove CONFIG_RCU_CPU_STALL_INFO"), and the kernel
now acts as if this Kconfig option was unconditionally enabled.

3. RCU_NOCB_CPU_ALL
Referencing files:
Documentation/RCU/Design/Memory-Ordering/Tree-RCU-Memory-Ordering.rst

This is an old snapshot of the code. I update this from the real
rcu_prepare_for_idle() function in kernel/rcu/tree_plugin.h.
This change was tested by invoking "make htmldocs".

4. RCU_TORTURE_TESTS
Referencing files: kernel/rcu/rcutorture.c

Forward-progress checking conflicts with CPU-stall testing, so we should
complain at "modprobe rcutorture" when both are enabled.
