are now identical and move the result file to x86.

Replace CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND with CONFIG_HIBERNATION to avoid
confusion (among other things, with CONFIG_SUSPEND introduced in the
next patch).

Do not mark the kernel text read only if KPROBES is in the kernel;
kprobes needs to hot-patch the kernel text to insert it's
instrumentation.

In this case, only mark the .rodata segment as read only.

Right now Kprobes cannot write to the write protected kernel text when
DEBUG_RODATA is enabled. Disallow this in Kconfig for now.

Temporary fix for 2.6.22. In .23 add code to temporarily
unprotect it.

<title>[PATCH] i386: PARAVIRT: Remove CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT</title>

Remove CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT. When inlining code, this option
attempts to trash registers in the patch-site's "clobber" field, on
the grounds that this should find bugs with incorrect clobbers.
Unfortunately, the clobber field really means "registers modified by
this patch site", which includes return values.

Because of this, this option has outlived its usefulness, so remove
it.

Deliberate register clobber around performance critical inline code is great for
testing, bad to leave on by default. Many people ship with DEBUG_KERNEL turned
on, so stop making DEBUG_PARAVIRT default on.

It turns out that the most called ops, by several orders of magnitude,
are the interrupt manipulation ops. These are obvious candidates for
patching, so mark them up and create infrastructure for it.

The method used is that the ops structure has a patch function, which
is called for each place which needs to be patched: this returns a
number of instructions (the rest are NOP-padded).

Usually we can spare a register (%eax) for the binary patched code to
use, but in a couple of critical places in entry.S we can't: we make
the clobbers explicit at the call site, and manually clobber the
allowed registers in debug mode as an extra check.

And:

Don't abuse CONFIG_DEBUG_KERNEL, add CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT.

And:

AK: Fix warnings in x86-64 alternative.c build

And:

AK: Fix compilation with defconfig

And:

Remove CONFIG_STACK_BACKTRACE_COLS.

This feature didnt work out: instead of making kernel debugging more
efficient, it produces much harder to read stacktraces! Check out this trace
for example:

  http://static.flickr.com/47/158326090_35d0129147_b_d.jpg

That backtrace could have been printed much nicer as a one-entry-per-line
thing, taking the same amount of screen real-estate.

Plus we remove 30 lines of kernel code as well.
